    Pelicans Some Frank Jackson news

    Tweets from HoopsHype:

Jim Eichenhofer: #Pelicans summer head coach Kevin Hanson on Frank Jackson: “Super explosive, looks really good. His rhythm will probably be a little off (at first), but we’re going to try to get it there quickly…being able to guard the ball, he can be an elite defender in this league, I think” 21 hours ago – via Twitter Jim_Eichenhofer
Will Guillory: Pelicans Summer League coach Kevin Hanson says Frank Jackson will start with a 25-minute restriction in Las Vegas. He will be allowed to play back-to-backs 21 hours ago – via Twitter WillGuillory

Download the Pelicans app and check out the interviews. Some pretty good stuff from Frank, Cheick, Tony and Coach Hanson.

Man if he can become anything close to his predraft comparison CJ McCollom, we got a steal and strong backcourt depth for a while

If he can come close to CJ then the Warriors have to worry about us, however CJ really didn’t take off until his 3rd year, and that was after 4 years in college.

If Jackson is a gamer, then ya best watch out.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

I'm pretty excited for this squad. I wasn't feeling being a tax team with Boogie due to his injury and letting the Warriors win a 3rd championship after them knocking us out of the playoff twice made me salty. Atleast... It's only 1 year and we set ourselves up to let the Warriors dynasty starting to crack in 2019 with Klay possibly leaving.

For sure, and perhaps even more significant than that, his shot looks good. Not the fastest release in the world, but pretty smooth. There's no real hitch in it, and he was shooting from well behind the college 3pt line in some of those shots, which projects well to the NBA. As does his ability to shoot both catch and shoot and off the dribble. I have a feeling that if he can play within himself and with any real defensive discipline, he could end up being a steal.
    Basketball.

Yup on the nba.com draft profile. Same frame, same game. The highlight video only confirm his McCollum-esque potential. I can’t wait to see how fast he develops. His shooting ability can make him become one of the top sixth man over the course of the season

I think he has all the potential to be even better. He is a 2 way player which is the main difference. Also Jackson has elite explosiveness instantly giving us one of the most athletic guards in the nba. CJ left as a Senior while Frank entered the nba after his freshman season. Very similar skill set as CJ offensively just more athletic which everyone should be excited about. Reminds me a little of Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray as well. Kid has everything it takes to be an elite guard. Would have been a top 20 pick possibly in the lottery if it wasn’t for his foot injury. We got a steak with that pick!

Does he remind anyone else of Kevin Johnson?

Saying as I don't think any of us remember much of Jackson, figured I'd post so we could take a look.

Stupidly hyped for the kid, this is only going to end in tears

Looks more like Donovan Mitchell because they both have thick builds. McCollom is a small guy. If he can be half of what Mitchell is he'd be a steal.

So is he a 1 or a 2 in our system?

I might be right there with you. The good thing too is we have enough minutes between the two guard spots that he is going to get an opportunity.

Can't help but agree, I get strong Donovan Mitchell vibes.
