    Refs and players.
    Basketball.

this isn't on gentry or the refs. there were some bad calls yes, but we were just outplayed. jrue was horrendous for large stretches. and not just his offense. jrue's defense on mitchell in the 3rd quarter was some of the worst he has EVER played. also, mirotic was HORRIBLE. every time we play a good team, he is just trash. and rondo's defense on rubio was next-level bad

Yes. That one time out would have clearly changed the ebtire outcome of the game! The refs would have realized they were doing a terrible job and players would have realized they didn't show up.

It all hangs on Gentry for things beyond his control because he didn't take a timeout at exactly the time you thought he should.

No it may not have changed the outcome because the Jazz are a better team and played better tonight, but Gentry let's teams go on runs too often.
They lost because most of the players played bad, but those 5 minutes to end the 3rd just pissed me off.

    This franchise is really frustrating.

These last two home games should of been two of the most important games of the season for this franchise.

You finally have an enormous amount of buzz and are building momentum with near sell outs and you not only drop the ball once on a Friday night game(which to an extent was understandable), but you drop the ball a second time in a game that should of felt like play-off game, not a game that looks like the team is going through the motions with little sense of urgency.

I would like to exempt AD from criticism for the most part. He wasn't the stunning offensive force he sometimes is, but he still scored close to his average, rebounded pretty well, and obviously protected the rim like an absolute savage.

Or maybe.....the other teams were better!!

You know, that's possible. And far more likely than your logic where every time the Pels lose, it's because they didn't play hard. Let me ask you - could every team we beat have beaten us if they just played hard? Did we get lucky 38 times this year because we played a team not playing hard?

Or is it possible that sometimes your favorite team gets beat because both teams are playing hard and the other team plays better?

Very frustrating, imagine this team with Hield and Mitchell to pair with AD.... sigh.

How do you know we would have selected Mitchell?

we just have a hard time defending teams that run pick n roll with good big men and a decent PG....rubio ran the pick n roll until the wheels fell off...

Sometimes that is the case, it hasn't been the last two games.

The Pelicans are more than capable of beating the Jazz with AD playing like he did and the Pels were more than capable of putting together a better outing against the Clippers than they did. Neither happened and unfortunately that could be a blow and set back for a city that is already mostly fair weather fans. But that is how the Pels are going to build this fanbase, capturing those fair weather fans after some buzz gets going and than delivering consistently with great efforts and strong home play.

Like Gentry said the team has gotten away from a lot of the little things that are often the difference in wins and losses. The ball movement, despite the raw assist numbers were not the kind he wanted to be seeing, the ball was not flowing like it needs to be to get defenses from setting and getting those great(not just good) looks. The player movement has not been there the way it had been, not enough cuts, well executed handoffs, or capitalizing on mismatches, something Gentry also touched on. The team was getting out hustled on rebounds and we missed something like 15 layups this game. There was plenty of room for this team to improve on their output.

Had this been a game like that where all the things we need to do right were done right and we just lost, I can live with that.

The good thing is the Pels have built a nice cushion so they can withstand two losses like this. The bad news is the schedule is only going to get harder and this team is likely going to need to play close to the peak of their streak to get above .500 the rest of the way.

Just a bad matchup. Smart well coached team versus a dumb team.

This team is going to miss the playoffs because of Gentrys stubbornness to play Rondo in the starting lineup. If you can't see how bad he hurt us this game I don't know what to tell you anymore. Rubio absolutely abused him offensively while Rondo killed our spacing and ball movement.. so tired of seeing his near every game while people get blinded by a few nice passes and a stat line that's close to a triple double. The ball movement, spacing, and defense is not and day with and without Rondo on the floor. He's needs to play with the bench!!

    Nice, Pels fanbase. Nice.
No, blame both coaching and players. Coaching decisions with the lineups/matchups/timeouts and the players for not playing well outside of Okafor and AD.

The Jazz have always had our number. Since the days of Trashburn and Baron Davis to now, these guys always take it to us. It was just not going to happen.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

If Ben Simmons wins ROY it will be because of a year of hype, and then another season of play, the real ROY is playing in Utah, and if Godon Hayward has stayed they would be a top 3 team.

Off course another important game and another lost. I don't get how in the world We are playing better basketball on the road then in our house. All the good vibes after the 10 games winning streak disappeared. #Pelslife

Still deciding where my level of faux-outrage should be because I'm having a hard time mustering a strong opinion either way, but it wasn't a great look for AD to walk off to locker room with :90 left in the game after getting subbed out. Just felt like it was a bit of a statement for the leader of the team to be making... was this addressed anywhere? Didn't see anything about it.
