Thread: maybe getting healthier soon

    maybe getting healthier soon

ajinca is coming back after thanksgiving and before christmas

both solomon hill and frank the tank should be back around mardi gras

i honestly hope ajinca can give 10-12 quality min a game as he was not that horrible as a backup center. just being in the rotation will help davis and cousins.

hill's return puts cunningham on the bench and frank will compete next season most likely.

Yea honestly if he returns to the form he was playing last season, he's more than capable for that 3rd/4th big for 10 min. a game role. The more I think about it, that would be ideal rather than spending the pick on trading for that kind of rotation C. Gives the team a lot more options if Ajinca can return and play decent enough.

Every time I hear when Frank is coming back, it’s another month later. First December, now January, now February. I expect Dell to trade him away before he even touched the court. Then he will go on to be most improved player next year or something. Just my guess. Lol.

From my understanding he is still expected back December / January. Actually, just last week Gentry said he expected him to start doing a few things basketball related in a week or so.

His original time line was 3 - 4 months from the beginning of September so it sounds like he is still right on track.

Asik back?!?! Forgive us for ever doubting you, Buckwheat the prophet! Good news though, Asik if really healthy and motivated again, can definitely help spell AD/DC for at least 10 min. a game. Could actually be effective in that role so he'd have more stamina with low minutes.

Wouldn't that be the Pels story of the year? Asik returning and being a helpful rotation player after all of us thinking all the lines of buyout-stretch contract, trade with a first, medical retirement.

I think it’s been so long you forgot that Asik is not good. He’s slow footed, and can’t catch nor shoot.

Sure. But he can rebound and plays center. 10 minutes of not utter trash is all we need to rest AD and Cousins.

That said, I have no hopes yet on if or what Asik will do. Who knows if he will even play. Before Bosh retired he tried multiple times to come back. Let's see how it all plays out.

Since they don't need him to be a scorer at all, Asik playing the defensive specialist role would be real useful. I think the defense will be much better once he gets back into game shape. Asik should be interesting to see with Cousins.

I want asik gone. Some way, some how

Well if he returns and plays decently for a stretch, he could be easier to trade as a playable back-up C with a big contract rather than just a big contract.

The big question, will Asik bring the ball up and initiate the offense? Will he settle for drives and post ups? Or will he show us his 3 pointer and passing prowess?

Maybe I misunderstood the whole situation but I thought it would be better for this organization if he couldnt play a few more months and then he would medically retire or sth like that and his sallary wouldnt affect us any more.

    PG - Rondo
    SG - Jrue
    SF - Davis
    PF - Cousins

Having Asik as an option is better than not having a roster spot lol. Maybe in the right matchup he can give us 10 minutes or so but those matchup are few and far between.

A certain someone said Asik was Never coming Back ?
I was saying for weeks Asik will be back on the floor.
They have too much money invested in him to sit.

Both situations have their benefits. If Asik doesn't play for a year and has to medically retire then his contract comes off the books. This is *probably* the most ideal path for the team. However, with no backup center even on the team that's healthy, and us in the middle of a playoff push, if Asik is in fact healthy enough to play and give us a handful of minutes that aren't garbage then that's a big help to us too.

When the rumor broke a couple weeks ago that we had a trade lined up that we backed out of involving trading him, he seemed then that his medical retirement was probably not likely. That said, let's see what happens.

Either way fans can have something to cheer for.
