Refs don't call the game, they call reputation.
Cousins commits fouls and complains. So they won't call fouls for him.
I remember at the end of last season a lot of people here (and a few writers) said that if the Pelicans start off slow (like first 20 games) don't be surprised if Gentry gets canned.

Wow! MF Bonzie Wells is in Area 51? Ha! That was the only guy that would take the ball up the court with a tooth pick in his mouth, Razor Ramone that tooth pick at his defender, and toss up a three. That was one of the roughest Pelican defenders.
He's also a low grade moron, but let's set that aside for the moment.
Shaq bought into the Kings when Vivek took over. he wanted to work with Cousins etc. I always wondered how that went because you never heard much about it, and Cousins has a B.S. detector a mile wide.
In any case, Shaq largely went silent about Cousins for years. Then to start last season, like almost the first game, he abruptly ripped Cousins badly on national TV in kind of an unprovoked attack. It was bizarre for a part owner of the player's team, but may in the end, have been an early sign of the factions in Sac working to get Cuz out of there.
Given that history I would say that pretty much whatever that comes out of the Big Buffoons mouth is largely Sac mouthpiecing for a certain segment of the Byzantine little backstabbing office culture that franchise has.

Even the Kings players get that you attack mismatches IMMEDIATELY. You don't piddle around and then force a long 2 or a bad 3.
