NBA Kyrie wants trade from CLE

"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin

Too bad we do not have the assets as he and AD are good friends.

Would have been a nice trade a few weeks ago.

Kyrie says he wants a bigger role, but reports are (I haven't looked it up) that he had a higher usage rate than Lebron. So something is funky over there. Maybe he just wants out of LeBron's shadow.

All he has to do is wait a year and brons gone. I mean Idk this comes off as pretty selfish If all you care about is your own numbers

Or maybe he wants out because he knows LeBron is gone and he doesn't want to be there for the aftermath of that? Just spitballing. Definitely strange timing though

    I'd offer Boogie without hesitating.

Boogie will leave anyway. Kyrie & AD would be a sick combo & have more upside.

Kyrie might end up in Phoenix. That was the rumor a few weeks back.

    https://clutchpoints.com/kyrie-irvin...ge-cavs-trade/

Bledsoe and Paul George would have ended up in Cleveland. Kyrie in Phoenix. The #4 pick would have gone to Indiana.

If my memory is correct, this would have been the 2nd time Kyrie was almost traded to Suns.

Maybe Kyrie feels some type of way because Cavs were trying to trade him initially in a trade for PG and Bledsoe?

So now, he's probably like, "With Lebron leaving next year AND trying to trade me in the beginning (which proves you guys aren't loyal to me), then trade me now."

That center is in the last year of his deal. That lowers his value in a trade.

    That doesn't answer my question

This could get messy... From the espn article in the OP

"The request came last week and was made to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert. Irving has expressed that he wants to play in a situation where he can be more of a focal point and that he no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James, sources said."

Why not just make the trade Kyrie for Melo?

He must be more interested in individual accomplishments over championships. Then again, maybe he feels like they can't beat the Warriors, so he might as well go somewhere and imitate pre-Shaq Kobe.

Sure it does. Obviously other teams can offer more than Boogie on the final year of his deal.

Also, supposedly, he mentioned the Knicks, Spurs, TWolves and Heat as the teams he wanted to go to. Amazing how high the TWolves have climbed this offseason.

    Question of the day.

Is this more cowardly than KD to the Warriors?

KD didn't demand to be traded.

    So is that a yes?

As a side note I don't think what KD did was cowardly, he actually appears to care about winning. I know a lot of people see it as being cowardly though.

I agree. I did not see KD as cowardly. I do see what Irving is doing as cowardly. The timing is terrible as well as many teams have already filled out most of their rosters.

    Kyrie wants trade from CLE

    Three way deal

    Cavs get Melo, Bledsoe

    Knicks get Irving

PHX gets Shumpert, Frye and NYs 2018.

Cleveland will be okay. With Irving locked up for two years they'll get want they want.

I have to think this revives the Melo to Cle talks.
