Thread: Boston just won't go away...

This trade AD scenario only comes into play if the Pelicans severely disappoint.

In fairness, New Orleans is as hard to gauge as any team in the league. They're in the mighty West- which is humbling, their roster is of an unusual configuration, and they depend on some players with a volatile history.*

This is not to say New Orleans is headed down; it could easily be the opposite. But if they do disappoint, it's no insult to receive one of the biggest trade hauls ever while doing a reset.

*Take a look at the recent Rondo Tour of Destruction:

Rondo went to Dallas. They gave up a lot and had a disappointing season.

Rondo went to Sacramento: They gave up their star and had a disappointing season.

Rondo went to Chicago. They had a disappointing season and gave up their star.

Rondo went to New Orleans... maybe that changes this time.

The Pelicans could just as easily surprise to the upside, make the playoffs and look formidable. If it goes bad, the AD for a king's ransom alternative- purely as an emergency option- is a good thing.

In Rondo's defense, the vets in Chicago were calling out the young guys while not playing hard themselves. Rando called them out for that and took up for the younger guys. Also, the players didn't listen or respect the coaches.

I think Rondo is at his best when he's not the focal point of the offense and has scorers around him that he can create shots for. It's funny how people don't think we can space the floor with our starting lineup but Holiday and Boogie are solid 3 PT shooters and Hill and AD are ok 3pt shooters (AD is money from mid range). All rondo has to do is create space for those guys and get the offense rebound when Boogie is on the 3pt line (which is what he's does well anyways).

AD is a terrible 3point shooter

Rondo is real, in a league full of phonies, a guy like Rondo and Reggie Jackson are refreshing.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.
