    Pelicans Pelicans talking with Rondo about a 1 year deal {updated - Signed}

Let's sign Steph Curry then. Clearly he or someone as good is available right now.

I've mentioned before that he and Boogie did real well together a couple of years ago.

And frankly Boston might have done something more desperate this offseason if he hadn't got hurt in the first round, because with him the Bulls were going to beat the Cs.

    -- championship experience
-- up with Rubio as best passer in the NBA
-- throws a beautiful alley oop ball that A.D. will appreciate
-- has 96 playoff games of experience. The "Big Three" combined have all of 21. The experience is needed.

Rondo has improved his 3 point shot to league average over the last three seasons...he also is pretty good in the pick and roll. He would be a pretty good stopgap pg.

I retract my last statement. Let's get Rando and make Boogie happy!

If trade talks have stalled with Jackson, that would mean Moore stays, and we keep our best shooter. I say do it. Only thing I worry about is his attitude. Not exactly the most stable guy to have in the locker room.

Hi IQ player that will instantly make our bigs more dangerous (easy buckets)
A winner that Boggie will control (It's on him)
Adds a lot to our offence flow
    The best passer available
    Go for it!

Kills our spacing but he was a huge reason the Bulls almost sent Boston home in the playoffs. As soon as Rondo got hurt that series shifted in the Celtics favor.

I do like his passing though. Was good with Cousins in Sac. Now he has two options. Options limited if Jrue is the one driving the lane though. The offensive mentality would have to change for this to work. Would need to be more Utah like.

Otherwise you'd almost have to replace Hill in the starting lineup with a real shooter.

I like him. I have been on board with bringing him in since last season. He makes sense. He will give our guys great looks, and he will make our back court a top 15 duo....and we don't have to move Moore? Not bad!

To me it seems like the goal was to improve at the PG position. Regardless if dude could shoot or not. Gentry and Demps said they needed playmakers. But I think now they'll try to trade for wing shooters, sign Lawson or Rodriguez and call it an offseason

The only upside I see is that it increases the chances Boogie resigns for a minimum contract (or close to it)

It has been discussed previously that Boogie and Rondo were very close when Rondo was in Sacramento. Not sure a 1 year deal does a lot to influence Boogie though. I hope it is close to a league minimum deal.

Past 3 yrs Rondo is a better 3pt shooter than Bledsoe & comparable to Jackson. Good Move. If it works & Boogie re-signs, we can always bring him back. If not, we move on w/out the monstrous Jackson contract or Bledsoe 15 million. I like it.

I think he's the perfect fit

doesn't he get still some money from Chicago next year too? or how does that work if he sign here?

Rondo for a year would be perfect. He shot 37.6% from three last year on 1.9 attempts per game and .365 on 2.4 attempts the prior year. If he can stay healthy he can make a positive difference. I was impressed that he seemed to really help hold the Bulls locker room together last year despite being benched at some point. Also brings a ton of needed experience. If he can't stay healthy or creates problems, its a cheap one year deal anyway. If he can learn to accept a lesser role and wants to stay, I could see him having a few years left playing off the bench. Plus it saves all possible trade assets to move for a wing shooter.
