Blah. He hasn't really done much since he's been here. I fear he's another Gordon contract. Plenty of upside but his injury problems and production issues leave much to be desired.

He never said his heart was in Indiana or whatever, though. So at least Jrue isn't a scumbag. He'll ball for us as much as he's capable. And he's supposedly fully healthy. We'll see how this goes...

That's true. Gordon basically stole money by faking an injury for 4 years just because he didn't want to play here. First season in Houston, he loses a ton of weight and becomes pretty productive.

Still, Jrue didn't mention his injury problem before we traded for him and we gave up a lot in picks and dollars. I just hope he can live up to it.

It's going to to be really sad when we see that he is the top paid of the top point guards in this free agency period. He isn't to be confused with a real member of a Big 3, so we just shot our load on mediocrity. Kudos Demps and Gentry. Your last season with the Pels couldn't end soon enough.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

I agree. I think Loser Alvin Gentry should have been gone in April at seasons end.
It's hard to imagine expecting huge turn of events with the same failed player and same Head Coach.
Reaching the 42 game win mark will be tough. That seems to be the magic number for a 8 seed spot.

Let this sink in, the highest paid point guards in the NBA (right now):

    1) Steph Currey
    2) Mike Conley
    3) Russ Westbrook
    4) Damian Lillard
    5) CP3
    6) Jrue Holliday
    7) Kyrie Irving
    8) John Wall

He will be outside of the top ten as early as next season. Right about where he should be.

    Now great Point.
Now when Jrue is one on one matched up against these guys he gets his lunched taken every time.
Example playoffs against Warriors he averaged 6 points a game vs Curry.
Westbrook puts 30 plus on him usually with ease
    Irving lights him up.
It's a pattern. I was hoping Dell wanted change but I guess he doesn't. Same old patterns get you the same results

Wall is about to get paid so I think Jrue is going to be down to seven.

All these players did not sign their deals this year. Many players are under contracts signed before the cap jump. Its irrelevant because salaries increase every season, that's how it works. Within the next couple years you will see more lucrative contracts than Jrue and he won't even be in the top 10 highest paid point guards. People did this same hand wringing with Conleys contract last year.

The only thing I really care about is re-signing Cousins. Just have to hope this helps.

This would of been easier to swallow if we could of gotten Paul George...

Still kinda tripping out on Oladip and Sabonis being all it took.

Much like getting Cousins with just Buddy Hield a 1st and filler.

Obviously we as fans of the Pelicans are stuck with this player.
Through 4 years each of you can decide what your thoughts are of his production.
Let's hope we can grab a couple players that want to take a chance on this teams upside.
Alvin Gentry is not a very good Head Coach let's face it players are not beating the door down on Airline Hwy to play for Gentry.
So it's up to Davis and Cousins to help attract these role players.
July 6 will be here end of the week so let's hope Davis and Cousins can help.

It's almost as if there was a massive cap spike and a new CBA that changed the amount players get...

No that couldn't be the reason because then I couldn't just blindly bash Dell and this organization.

After that, if we don't like the direction/not satisfied with Jrue at the point, maybe then trade him and hope for John Wall that off-season??
Too bad we're in the West

the good thing about this list is that all of those players are playoff PG's....so now the magic should rub off to jrue and make him a playoff PG too......

Yes i believe in crazy stuff like that lol......so enjoy the playoffs people....

Teague is the 10th highest paid and Mills is the 20th. I have a sneaking suspicion that we outbid ourselves.

Lol. You're supposed to let them vent for a bit before squashing that nonsense so thoroughly.
