Would love him as VP of Operations.
Shouldn't this say LeBron fired him 😂

All this offseason needs is an emoji battle between the All-NBA teams and it's a lock for best non-basketball basketball ever.
Lebrons leaving Cleveland again to find a super team that he can beat GS....He is not winning anything with Tristian Thompson making 16 mil a year to be non existent in the finals.
Whats silly about Thompson making $16mil is that LBJ demanded that they keep Thompson at all costs, and that gave Thompson the leverage to demand $16mil a season. He played himself.

He also demanded that they keep JR Smith (at $14mil a season).

LBJ made his bed, so let him sleep in it.Windhorst reports that LeBron's agent, Rich Paul, has "made it known" that no talks will take place until free agent Tristan Thompson gets a new deal. Paul represents both Thompson and the four-time NBA MVP.
ESPN originally reported that Thompson and the Cavs had "essentially come to terms" on a five-year, $80 million contract on the first day of free agency. However, talks have reportedly broken down since then. Windhorst reports that the two sides are now no longer currently talking, and, until they do so, neither is LeBron.
"LeBron has made it clear, 'Look we're not going to talk until Tristan Thompson is done.' Here's the problem, Cavs talks with Tristan Thompson have stalled," Windhorst said. "They're going to have to figure something out with Tristan Thompson before LeBron James. That's leverage. And Tristan Thompson, his agent Rich Paul, and LeBron James are playing that game right now."
LeBron has said he wants the Cavs to keep Thompson long term, telling the media Thompson should play out his entire career in Cleveland.
LBJ resigned in August. Cavs didn't resign Thompson until October. I get the narrative, but every player on every team usually wants their teammates to resign and get paid. Every Pelican has tweeted and stated their support for Jrue coming back to the team. How is that any different than what LeBron has done? If he threatened not to resign if they didn't take care of Thompson, he certainly didn't follow through with his threat since he signed 2 months before Tristan and locked himself into a 2+1 deal when everyone assumed he was going to continue to sign 1+1 deals to have leverage over the team.
But whatever fits the narrative I guess...
Whatever fits the narrative indeed.
LBJ made it so that the Cavs had no leverage. Everyone remembers that Thompson doesn't get that contract without LBJ taking the Cavs legs out from under them. LBJ is a great player, but a ******** gm.
Let's assume Lebron is the GM and we buy that narrative. I mean... the team has been in the finals 3 straight years. They won a championship. They're the Eastern Conference favorites again next year. They steamrolled everyone until they got to the Warriors. Kryie and Love are 2 guys on good contracts that would demand a nice haul if they put them on the market. Even Thompson is a plus asset.
And again... from a negotiating standpoint, how did Lebron signing a 2+1 months before they finally agreed with Thompson equal Lebron leveraging the Cavs into giving Thompson that deal? If he had signed a 1+1, maybe? If he had waited until the day after Thompson was signed, maybe? But he did absolutely nothing to leverage them other than doing what players always do in his position which is publicly supporting his teammate getting a new contract.
But whatevs. You guys are funny.
Here's a more interesting Cav's question. If you're Dan Gilbert, and you're hearing Lebron is considering leaving for the Lakers next season, do you consider getting ahead of that and trading him??? That arena and all of the Downtown businesses Dan owns died when Lebron left then before. Gotta at least try not to let that happen again.
