Gallinari is 20million plus/year player with a long injury history.
He missed 20+ games every year.
Plays Little defense. I will pass on him.
Even renouncing Jrue might not be enough.

Also - our FO believes in Hill.

To take Deng contract they will need to take Asik and sweeten the deal. It wont happen.

Was it DMC -AD combo? Or future HC commitment?
Finch is exactly a type of assistant who soon becomes HC.
Don't you have a friend at the nuggets? Wonder what the word is on there end that he gave them for taking this role.

Yeah. But some infos are kept in secret.
What was said to me he sees this as better opportunity to succeed. For himself. Looks like they have sold him that he will be kinda associate.
He would love to be a HC in 1-2 years.

But Denver is p....d off because of his decision...

Denver will be much different after this summer. Maybe he did not like the future of this team.
    Names are interesting...
They like one of our players on their list as a plan C-D. And one as a possible trade target. Sorry but cannot say names. But at this point it is anything special leaguewide

But for offensive purposes DMC -AD combo looks interesting.
Upside of Jokic vs present of AD-DMC is no brainer for him.

I knew it that Denver wants to make Quinn Cook its starting PG and that they want to trade for Asik ^^

    My 2 Cents
I see this move as a power play from Loomis.
It's not anything but a answer to our demands.
30 win Alvin Gentry who was suppose to be the AKA Offenseive Guru has his seat a little warm as of today.
I personally see Darren Erman as Head Coach in the future.
Mickey got the Pelicans someone that can relate to AD n DC
Let's hope sooner rather than later Alvin Gentry makes his exit.
Robert Pack was dumb as Rocks as far as running the Point Guard and 2 Guard scheme sorry no offense but facts.
Mickey asked Pack to roll out and Boom we have a Real Guru running the offense.
Folks light is at the end of the tunnel.
The Pelicans can not afford to have DC roll out to OKC at the end of the season.
Now let's get a Real Point Guard
Mickey thanks for making this move
    Go Pelicans

Gentry is virtually expiring after this season.
Pels have 4 million team option.
    Remember about it.

The one thing I don't like with Gentry is his body language when the team is not playing good. From the outside, it does not feel like the coach you want to go to war for that we had with Monty.

How are the leadership skills of Finch?

Hard to say anything about his leadership skills. He was head coach in Europe and DLeague. With success.
DAntoni did not liked him. He took his people and Finch was let go.

He is for sure more offensive oriented than Pack (man)

Yeah understand the truly inside stuff, and even friend to friend privacies so appreciate the info. Certainly the opportunity to coach two big name big men is a big draw as you mentioned. And then the added opportunity to potentially move on up in the world.

So if you hope Alvin makes his exit soon then you hope the pels start off bad. I'm not with that logic. As a fan of the team I hope Alvin is successful. Like him or not you don't pull against the guy if you call yourself a fan of the team.

Off topic, but what happened to GuardianAngel and Champ? I haven't seen either of them post in some time.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

I believe this 100%. Sounds exactly how I imagined it. Denver being upset fits in too.

Clearly either something was said about him being the future here or the draw of making AD-Cousins a top offense was too much to pass up. If he succeeds here he will have a HC offer next summer.

When you look at the fact that there are only 1 or maybe 2 coaching gigs available this summer, it makes sense for him to make this move.

Seems like a great move by the front office. So now Cousins will be our point-center if you can say that .
If he influences the offense just like Erman did with the defense then we might be good

and I would say a big NO to Gallinari

Alvin Gentry is the worst thing for the Pelicans
D.C. is a gone pecan if we don't show that the club is committed to a 50 win season.
Now we need a Legit Point Guard
I believe Crawford can handle the 2 Guard
Hill will have to stay since we are so far in upside down on his deal.
Dump Q Tip and Asik should be in the plans soon

One name that could come up due to Finch now is Deng, Finch coached him with the GB national team so I'm sure there is still a bound between the two of them.
    Galinari !!!!

You've made multiple posts about Boogie being gone. Source? Conjecture?

Kushner's latest piece on the Finch hire (and Pack leaving) http://www.theadvocate.com/new_orlea...61f823d93.html

Interesting that Pack is leaving to chase a HC opportunity, and Finch is coming while chasing the same thing (assumption, haven't personally spoken to the bloke). Perhaps Pack thought/was advised that to get up he would need more experience - coaching d-league, international coaching etc are all highly valued (the earlier posted ESPN article on top future coaches touched on these points), and NOLA was not a realistic opportunity after Gentry.

Remember about it? Remember this !UNLESS Finch is the Head Coach next year (2018) because Boogie & AD buy in,GENTRY was basically given a multi-year extension if the Pels win enough games & Boogie re-signs.Remember this!Using the specious logic that the Front Office used "We kept Demps & Gentry for Stability CRAP", The Pelicans cant 180 & FIRE Gentry if the Pelicans improve & Boogie re-signs.. It would destroy the entire Platform as to why they kept Gentry this year. So,if Pels make playoffs & re-sign Boogie, Gentry aint goin nowhere. OR the Pels can do what Mythrol suggest>After Boogie re-signs,then Fire Gentry... Now, that thought process is goofier than the Pelicans thought process. Boogie re-signs, we FIRE Gentry! Man, that would really allow Boogie to TRUST us. NOT! We would be acting like Sacramento.
