yeah he had potential but this was a no brainer
    I'm a grinder

Kings now have Buddy, WCS, Collison, and Afflalo. They will also have a top 5 picks (theirs), and ours as well. They aren't going to be great, but without Boogie they will finally be able to have a team again. Not saying Boogie prevented them from having a team, but his situation there was toxic and it hurt the team.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Well, so sense in finishing this now. Started drawing it for my daughter because Buddy was her favorite Pelican. Love the trade for us though and I hope Buddy becomes a superstar for the Kings.
Very nice. My son was upset too as he was a big Buddy fan.

Same here. I like the deal, but man...my 11 year old son loves Buddy. Has been on his bandwagon ever since draft night. He was pretty shocked this morning.
A football game can't stop hurricanes.

    It can't fix levees.

    Or rebuild houses.

But it can let a city know...

That it's a city once again.

    Welcome back, New Orleans.

Yeah, my son is 11 as well and we went to the Rising Stars Challenge to see him (my son decked out in his Buddy jersey). He was not a happy camper.

Man, I hate to lose him because I think he will be a star at some point but there is no way you pass on that deal.

I'm going to miss you Buddy and I will keep an eye on your career!

Over/under on Buddy having his first 30 point game this season now that he will probably be the focal point of an offense?

    I say 80 percent chance.

Which is why I can live with the trade. They seem to think he is a star in the making and their track record of projecting SG's is so bad that it is making me rethink my projections of Buddy lol.

...Not really, but Buddy is exactly the sort of shooting guard you want in the back court with Davis and Cousins. Would of been nice to see him grow with this core.

Pretty sure someone has the rights to trade their pick with whichever is the better pick of the two this year.

Good chance ours isn't even in the lottery anymore and they don't have a pick next year.

They are truly a dumpster fire of an organization. I feel bad for Buddy.

Pels wanted Casspi, and salaries didn't work without additional player, while Jones' $1m wasn't enough.

    wrong
    Tyreke is 10,2, Galloway 5,2
    DMC 16,9 and Casspi 2,9

this trade is fine (even without Casspi)

Buddy's salary created trade exception. as did Casspi salary

Galloway was thrown there for a purpose
    Casspi as well

both teams gave those players to create trade exceptions. for both

both can use it now or later

Dell probably will use it now for Morrow/Rush etc

watch for Dell in next hours

    will be fun

Tweet from Eric Pincus - cap guru

"By my estimation Kings: Cousins for Evans, Gallo + Hield - Casspi for no one thus trade exception; for NOP: Evans + Gallo for DMC, Hield TPE"

Maybe Dell wanted Casspi. Maybe wanted trade exception. Maybe Sacto wanted trade exception.

    Does not matter

Dell has now ability to get Morrow type without sacrifying anything.

    He has
    - 2017 Pels 2nd rounder
    - expriing minimum TJones deal (very valuable for PO teams)
    - trade exception of 3 517 200
    - probably maybe even Dante as a movable piece

The main goal is to send somewhere Ajinca

my best case is Ajinca plus Jones plus second rounder for an expiring
and using free roster spot for Cook/Lance/Chalmers

This. Philadelphia has the right to swap picks. So more probably the Kings will have a pick in the 7-10 range and the Pelicans pick in the late lottery/middle of first round. In 2019 their pick belongs to the 76ers. All this thanks to the amazing job of their clueless GM, who traded Landry and Jason Thompson to Philadelphia last year.

Give Buddy a shout out after his first game as a KING! 16 pts and a win!

    http://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400900261

    Not bad stats at all!

  19. #44
Listen, I can't think of one person who should be happy that he's gone. Great kid, great attitude, good skills, but come on... We traded him for DEMARCUS COUSINS!

    1st game stats:

    Buddy - 16 points (6-10), 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 0 blocks

    Boogie - 27 points (11-19), 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals, 4 blocks

Considering Boogie is only 3 years older than Buddy, I'd say it's not even close. We saw 3 other teams in the west trade for centers yesterday. That's the effect. They HAVE to match up with us, and once we get some chemistry, our defense will be top-5, and our offense will be rolling. Give it time.

it is not even debatable. no brainer

but Buddy will have a career in the NBA

I am sorry for him - but in Sacto he may have a room for development.

    Sacramento? Development?

Buddy looks awful. McLemore & Malachi both look better for SAC.

I'm shocked at how poor a defender he is.

SAC fans are getting even more upset now asking "this" is what we got back for Boogie???

Buddy is going to be a star. He will be a 23ppg player and will be much better next year. He looks good and I think SAC will be a good team in 2 years.
