    Trade rumor

    Joe Freeman ✔ @BlazerFreeman
Odd scene in Blazers' locker room: Before leaving, Festus Ezeli approached teammates and exchanged hugs/handshakes. Like he was saying bye.
    4:29 PM - 14 Jan 2017

Ezeli has some serious injury issue so I don't know why anyone would trade for him, unless of course, it's to move Asik.

Gentry knows Ezeli well. Might have been begging Demps for a tougher big man.

Also speculation about Harkless not playing tonight due to a phantom injury.

Ezeli & Harkless would be an interesting pickup.

Portland has some real defensive issues. Could see them wanting defenders like Hill and Asik, maybe we throw in Frazier

If this happens I weill ******** my pants with excitement.

I honestly think it is a serious injury and he need to retire or end his season.
    Not a trade.

A lot of Ezeli's teammates don't like him.

Even if Ezeli never plays again, stretching Ezeli in the offseason = $2.5 million for 3 years compared to stretching Asik at $3.5 million for 7 years.

Ezeli's 2nd year is only 1mil guaranteed I've found out. Essentially hes expiring or gets healthy and is a bargain big.

If Portland's defense is as bad as everyone's been saying, they could be interested in taking a flyer on Asik.
Something like Asik for Ezeli's contract + Ed Davis or Vonleh. We might have to throw in a second rounder, but it'd be worth it to clear up that cap space and move on from the failed experiment. And then find a way to trade/stretch/buy-out Ajinca and his contract, too.

It's that the Hornets unashamedly quit so quickly in Game 4 after fans in New Orleans showed up this season with greater regularity than the team could have ever dreamed, shaming misinformed know-it-alls like me who kept telling you that local residents couldn't possibly invest their time and money into something as trivial as rooting for the local basketball team while still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. - Mark Stien ESPN
