Not saying that something is in the air, but if Pels want to stretch Asik this season they have time till 31st August.

Stretching was at least considered this year.
Not saying that I believe in it this year. Just reminding...

    For the record.
He is guaranteed for 3 full years and 3 millions from 4th year.
So he can be bought out for 34,8 millions for NINE years. So little less than 3,9/year.

I think stretching a guy is a horrible idea unless you can pay it out in a couple years.

Bucks won't give us Monroe for Reke and Asik and a heavily protected pick. They think they can get more and the truth is they can get a better deal. Greg Monroe is a very good player and a solid starter who is still learning.

I am not saying that it is good idea. At least now.

It is smart to take a look at him (maybe for last time), when he will go healthy into the training camp. Also - in the new CBA there might be amnesty provision for such players.
I am against stretching him now. At the earliest we may consider it in a 1 year time (3 years left - 24,9 millions).

But I am more against attaching to him draft pick(s), when the cap hit will be 3,5-3,9 millions. Even for 7-9 years...

Get a better deal where? He's been on the trading block all summer, with multiple media reports that they essentially can't give him away.
