People keep saying this, and you might be right. But the SF that can shutdown Lebron and hit 3 pointers either does not currently exist or isn't a free agent. Seriously, who are these powerful small forwards that have a high useage rate and bully people with their size?? People keep saying this, and other than Lebron I don't know who they're talking about!!!
So Crabbe is 6'6 with 6'11 wingspan. I'm not sure how his defense is but according to Blazers fans they consider him good on defense, some say 2nd behind Aminu on the team.
He's also played the majority of his minutes throughout his career at SF. This previous season 66% of his minutes came at the 3. He's also been used at the 2 and even some at the 4.
I don't think we'd have to worry about defense with him.
I mean heck, the main SFs we will be going against will be Ariza, Leonard (not a bruiser PF), whoever Dallas and Memphis end up getting (no bruiser Saf option out there).
Heck in all of the West who are the truly dangerous SFs? Durant - who is impossible for anyone to cover. Hayward? Leonard? Gallinari maybe?
That's all I can think of. So unless we make it to the finals I don't think we need a Lebron stopper.
Bazemore held Lebron pretty well on a few of these possessions. Of course it's just highlights, I guess I just want to point out that size and strength are not synonymous.
Asik gotta go

The more i watch bazemore the more i love him, i dont care how tall he is
I love him to just not at SF. He's a small ball SF and that's not what we need. 6'5 200 lbs soaking wet is simply not big enough. Jrue will have some good possessions defensively against Lebron and I even remember CP3 guarding him well at times but that does not mean it's a good idea to have him matched up all game. The good teams we would have to go through would exploit that matchup big time. Would love to have him at SG but now that isn't a big need. IMO QPon can give us everything he does while being a much better fit at SF. He's not worth that $ when Dell can find our own Bazemore. Ennis is another guy I think gives us close enough to what Baze does for a fraction of the price.
Here is a Fish article - with more professional and detailed look at every aspects and some new aspects
Enjoy.
