    Shams killed my day...
    1. because of another injury
    2. because of the fact that right now we might only trade Ryno or small pieces in Cole/Ajinca type...

hopefully Dell will stay calm with all this stuff...

If we can't move Reke this off season I really would look into trading him. I do think he could be valuable off the bench next year but IMO I would much rather be able to sign a stud FA while using Rekes $ to bring back Ryno. I like Reke and what he can bring but I just don't think he is a fit for this team along with his attitude. If he was a team guy and had no problem coming off the bench or finishing games in the best interest of the team I would have no problem. From what he has said in the past along with his brother he seems more of a me guy who is worried about that next big contract he will sign. Maybe the Cavs will take Gordon in place of Reke who is actually a better fit with his 3 point shot while they also won't be tied to him moving forward. I don't know why Cleveland would have wanted Reke except to maybe take some of the ball handling duties off Irving and Lebron. He would be a decent fit there but IMO they could use another SG who can shoot the 3 where Gordon could be deadly on that team.

we have not applied for hardship exception (for injured players)

so we will go with 13 players till the end of the season
now extending BDJ is a no brainer

or Dell has something other in mind

    I'm really happy for BDJ.

If I'm Dell I'll give Kilapatrick another look. Dude can ball man.

Do you have an empty roster spot?

we have 13 active plus 2 inactive out for the season (QPon and Reke)

I am not EVER going to be with the "lose on purpose" nonsense.

But we could get a great pick slated in the top 3...but no real chance if we are 6th, like we are right now? We are 4 games ahead of the T'Wolves. Who are 2 games ahead of the Suns and Nets, who are tied for 3rd worst record.

We haven't even hit the All-Star Break.

Yeah, some people are worrying that Tyreke lost for the season might make Dell trade Ryno for present assets, but I think it makes it even more clear the season is lost and forces his hand to trade him for future assets. Trading Ryno for an inferior current replacement, losing Tyreke, more Norris Cole, that sets you up to be an AD or Jrue injury away from a death spiral. And AD has only missed 6 games so far this season, he's averaging almost 15 games missed a year. And while I'd love if he could stay healthy the rest of the year, history says he's got almost 10 more missed games in him this year. And again, I'm not calling for an injury to either, especially Jrue, I'm just saying we can expect AD at least to miss some more games.

I swear though, I will be unhappy if Demps trades this pick this year. Protected or otherwise.

    believe in Brooklyn
they do not want to give such a high pick to BOS

and they are playin' Pels at home.

Yup. We don't need to lose on purpose. We can do that enough on our own by just playing.

What bothers me isn't that guys get injured often for the Pels. Its that they get injured, come back, and then start to miss games with "soreness"; and then all of a sudden they're out for the year. I mean he didn't get all the way back but that's basically what happened with QPon. Its happened with Jrue more than once. And now Tyreke. Even with the injury problems, if guys would just get hurt and then come back after they recover for a period of time; that would be one thing. But they seem to have so many set backs. Asik at the beginning of the season is another one; got hurt, came back, and then misses a bunch more games.
Completely agree that we don't have enough inside information and access to medical info to be blaming everything on the medical staff, but this is really becoming a pattern if it wasn't already one.

There's a difference between losing on purpose aka throwing games and making it harder to win. Gordon isn't playing now, but trading away pieces that actually have value like Ryno, Gordon, Evans is what I mean when I say tank because the Ls would certainly follow. We are 6th today, but that's in large part due to our recent 4 game plunge, when we won 8 of 10 or whatever it was our pick was looking like ole #11 again.

Yes the draft is pretty much like walking into a casino and putting $100 on #15. But I would rather us really suck this year, and have a greater opportunity to get a star to pair with AD, than continue to try and be mediocre, make 1-2 average FA acquisitions and set our ceiling at a 7th or 6th seed.

Eh. The difference is semantics, really. Getting Gordon and Ryno moved for assets is what I want too, but it's to the effect of doing what's best for the team long-term and what's the most controllable, more sure moves in the casino. The biggest difference from getting the young assets, not young veterans, mind you, and getting a draft pick is it's still a crap shoot afterwards. It's like playing roulette so you can go play slots afterwards.

We could get ourselves to the top 4 or whatever, and still pick 6th or 7th. And it could happen that that 7th overall pick, like say an Ivan Rabb or Jaylen Brown, is just as good as Simmons, somehow.

The injury situation with this team is beyond preposterous. This roster did well with the slightest bit of consistency. Other than a minute stretch after signing Pondexter, it never happened.

It's really difficult to say that the current roster's ceiling is 7/8th seed when they simply haven't played together save one minute stretch last year. Even then both Pondexter and Tyreke were on one leg.

Until this injury situation gets fixed so they can learn to play together, instead of like brainless twits, the cycle will continue. It won't matter who they draft or trade for.

    Ridiculous.

Dell trading the pick may be my breaking point.
