NBA SI reporting Dubs would create space for free agent Durant

We have a few expiring contracts if they want to start freeing up space now?

I won't believe this is anything other than a silly media construction up until the moment it happens. Before then, I have about as much faith in this as I do in the Westbrook + KD to the Lakers rumors.
Hey @okcthunder - you guys suck! Our top players are hurt. Some are dead. Some don't even like basketball. And we still kicked y'all's asses!- @TheFakeMonty

Just wondering, can anybody find any precedent for a top 3 team signing a top 3 player in FA? I've been looking around and as far as I can see, it's never happened before.

Man if the Warriors get Durant I don't think another team will win a championship for atleast 5 years. That could possibly go down as the greatest team in NBA history. I could definitely see Durant having the Warriors at the top of his list and he would be crazy not to.

I thought of that as well, but the Spurs, while good, would probably have exited in the second round, and LMA, while great, is nowhere near KDs level.

Durant is not even close to top 3

Durant is playing better than AD right now so that's kind of stupid to say

Curry, Lebron, and Kawhi are the top 3 players, Durant is not even the best player on his own team.

We do have 24 million in expiring contracts. I would do it in a heartbeat. They can throw in their 1st, too, since we are helping them form a super team. You could flip Igoudala or keep him around and you've successfully rebuilt the team on the fly.

Just can't see a team messing with a 70+ win chemistry before the trade deadline and that would be our only real shot at getting in on the deal.

Aite, this stops now. KAWHI IS NOT A TOP 3 PLAYER. Please stop this hype now. I'm sick of it. And it's sad because I love everything what he stands for and he is one of my favorite players. But the hype he get is becoming "hipster cool" to say.

I'll bite (even though I don't agree), but the premise still remains. If Durant joins Curry/Dray/Klay, that is an ELITE 4 that will be tough to deal with for EVERY team in the league.

Also, Kawhi as the 3rd best player in the league is a stretch. PG13, Russ, JB21, AD are both 2 way players with diverse offensive games.

The Warriors will be damn near unstoppable if they get KD without giving up Thompson. My God, that would be 10x better than the Heat.

They can have him. If we get Ben Simmons.

It's debatable wether or not AD is even the best AD in the league. Right now I don't feel comfortable saying he is a top 5 player let alone top 3.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

I would like to help them with Iguodala.
They might want to let him walk without salary back.
One year 11million. Then after a year you decide what to do.

We have great wing. Knows Gentry well.
The package might be a problem. But in general not a bad idea.

Trade Gordon for Iggy sounds about right.
They get an expiring for signing Barnes or chasing Durant and we get Iggy for one year to groom our 2016 first rounder which I hope will be a SF.

I still think he's a top 5 player, definitely not a top 3. And with how one-dimensional Drummonds offense is, I don't think you can really compare them.

Every year around free agency I hear what will happen if team signs "insert big name player here".

Many times it destroys that team's chemistry and they become worse for it, at least for a couple seasons.

I love the media. When LBJ did it, it was frowned upon. Now, it's ok. Durant to GSW is 100x more egregious than LBJ to Miami
The most overused words on Pelicansreport.com. Wrongly, I might add.

ELITE - (often used with a plural verb) the choice or best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons.

GREAT - notable; remarkable; exceptionally outstanding

These words should not be used lightly
