Honestly, surprised Gentry is already getting assistants when he's at such a crucial time in his career right now. You'd think he'd be doing that AFTER the Finals.
But hey, not that I'm complaining one bit.
Isn't Pack from the area?
Upon further review he is, and this is his second dance here in New Orleans as a coach.

No way! I posted the other day wondering if he is a possibility to get. He is the perfect coach for our guards to have lighting a fire under them defensively. I sat courtside at quite a few games when he was here and that guy was so intense. I remember Paul and others praising him for what he did for them and how much they liked him. Maybe AD can start working out with him haha. So excited about this staff.

Going into 1st season as an assistant with the Hornets
Good articles on Robert Pack coming back to Nola for the All Star games as an assistant with the Thunder and going into his first season as an assistant with the Hornets. Great to have a coach who will be involved in our community and maybe even be a positive influence in Davis helping him embrace the city even more. Got my favorite assistant couldn't be happier. Can't wait for this season. Gentry, Pack, and getting Erman along with keeping Vinson is a grand slam coaching staff.

Really think AG gave Dell a list of coaches to call. Some really good names coming out.

Yeah I think with Gentry being in the Finals I'm not so sure he's the one making the phone calls. It was already known he gave the FO a list of a staff he would like to put together. This could just be Demps shopping from a grocery list. Either way I'm happy because I thought it would be a few weeks before some assistants were named.
I remember when he was an NBA player he spent a Summer working out with Coach Fitz at Newman and I had a different level of respect for both after seeing that!
Added bonus: having a local guy in AD's ear all day, every day, can't hurt.
Bonus #2: The story of local kid from lower 9 (Lawless H.S.) returning home 10 years post Katrina is one that somebody will enjoy writing...

Off topic but, what ever happened to Randy Livingston? That guy had so much promise, and injuries just killed him. I thought he was into coaching but upon further review he isn't doing anything. Anyone know his wears bouts?
Coaching/scouting/training ...something like that... in Australia I believe.
