    Pelicans Our Salary situation!

Below is our cap situation according to hoops hype. If the cap is around $66 million with these numbers we have around $10 million in cap space, but if sign our own guys (Asik, Ajinca Cunningham, Withey). Can go over the cap to fill the roster with an MLE. Asik is the key to this b/c he probably will put us at the cap level we need to be at. Above represents 11 roster spots. We will probably sign 2 at the vet min. (Total of 13)
Anyway that is how I see it. Maybe MM can shed more light or correct my shortcoming in analysis.

To use Bird Rights on Asik, you have to add his cap hold, which puts us over the cap - which means, yes we have the MLE to use

We also have early Bird rights on AA and Babbitt for what it is worth. Basically we can go over the cap to sign everyone but DC. To keep him, we will have to use part of our MLE

Deal doesn't kick in until 2016-17.

Wonder what we do with the end of bench players (Babbit, Withy, Douglas), do you bring them back on minimum contracts, or do you look to fill needs even thought the amount of product from and end of bench player is 50/50 (well, unless dell goes dealer on us again).

I like the idea of continuity, and hope that those players get even more production after staying in the system a year or two.

Also, that's how octopi talk. They squibber. Yes, it's a word. Shut up.

Do you think Cole gets more than the QO?
If so could we use some of the MLE that isn't used on DC?

IMO Cole can get more than QO on the market. especially with the 2016 in mind. probably it is better for him to be on QO in 2015 and become UFA in 2016.

Dell has good history with minimum players - so probably with Fredette and Douglas out we have three places (we had roster of 14 players)
Babbitt, Withey for me are not worth more than minimum. and I am fine with taking them back.

ajinca probably will receive Roberts or Morrow -type money on the market. or toronto overpay him much. so there is a chance that AA is gone.

    for me DD must do:
    1. agree 5-year deal with AD
2.bring back Dante for multiyear contract in a ramge of 3m/year
    3. bring back Asik for a fair price (my dream is 8, but it will be probably 10)
    4. bring back Cole - I am fine with multiyear...

Ryno has very small value. Gordon's value is bigger than anytime in the past in NO shirt. But it might be to small for us...
Evans may go for a good price, which we probably won't receive...

so I am in the team 'continuity'
