Let's honestly just Austin Rivers go....he had his moments with us, but he didn't pan out. Peace and hair grease....if you youngins still say that lol

Rivers is gonna be a FA after the season, if NOP decides to trade one of either Gordon, Holliday or Evans, I wonder if the Pelicans will have interest in bringing Rivers back to New Orleans.

Doing that will improve your team and also allow the FO to save face after trading him away. Think of it like the Suns when they traded Nash away and brought him back after they realized he's good or when they traded Dragic away and brought him back after they realized he's good.

Bringing Rivers back to New Orleans wont happen. It can't happen. I would lose whatever respect I had for Demps if he did make that happen.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Rivers is straight CLOWNING James Harden, this is hilarious

If you are nostalgic for Austin Rivers ...

Countless numbers of players get traded before their rookie contract is up. Even lottery picks.

QPon was an actual starter for us, during the regular season, and without him we don't make the playoffs. I still make the trade.

As far as Rivers goes, he's always had the talent. It was always neck up for him (as many of us have said multiple times). I'm happy the guy went off. I hope he does have a good career. He was always a hard worker here, it just never clicked, sometimes a change of scenery is needed because the coaches can't reach a player.

That said. I'm in no way sold. With Beverley injured Houston's guards are garbage on defense. Rivers hasn't done a thing against any other team except maybe 1 game since being traded. But I won't hate him if he turns his career around.

The Clippers pacing makes it easier for Rivers. Heck, Jimmer would play better out there.

A bunch of people looking foolish in this thread.

AR is still just a wee boy. We are spoiled because the other 21-22 year old we had, but this kid is talented and driven.

Will he ever put it all together or will there just be flashes like over the last few games? Only time will tell.

Regardless, many of you need to learn a lesson of patience. Re-reading some of this stuff is comic gold right now.

This is Austin Rivers being Austin Rivers. We dealt with the same thing for 2 and half years on the board. He has one good game and everyone blows up and says "SEE? WHERE THE HATERS AT?" then he has like 20 bad games and they disappear until his next good game and the cycle starts all over.

Except now he put up THREE good games in a row, for the first time ever.

Let me see him average more than 7 points over a 20 game stretch before you guys crown him the next kobe bryant.

We have a better chance of getting Harden in a trade, than bring Rivers back. ..

I looked at his stat lines in the regular season, he's been the same amount of horrible since he got traded from NO. I think the fact that he's got less pressure on him to produce has let him relax and go nuts, the other thing is that there are NO defensive guards on Houston to stop him, though I thought that Smith and Howard would have put up some resistance.

tbh quincy did nothing during the playoffs, austin put up more points than he did all series in one game

Boston is the team that looks foolish. We got QPon in return. They traded Rivers to Clips for peanuts.

Even if we did keep him, I don't think we'd have ever gotten this Austin Rivers. I think he's fallen into the right spot. I'm happy with Pondexter, and I have no regrets about the trade.

When rivers left we were still more a team of individuals. There is no telling how he would have played with the new guys. We probably wouldn't have made the playoffs if we had Rivers instead of Qpon. That shouldn't diminish what he is doing, Qpon just fits better here.

    This.

It's ridiculous how much criticism he cops and I myself have been guilty of bad mouthing him.

He has a ton of ability, it's just been his execution that has let him down so much.

He really would have benefited staying in College another year or 2 before declaring IMO.

I hope he can start playing at a high level really consistently and give it to da h8ers.

One good game doesn't make a career.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

It has been more than one. He deserves some credit for stepping up.

  24. #124
It has been more than one game (3 games out of 10). Hard to take it serious until we see a larger sample size.

The NBA has better competition, better coaches, and better facilities... unless you're a total scrub that wouldn't last through your rookie season, take the money.
