I don't think it's worth making the playoffs if you're going to be blown out in every game (perhaps with the exception of one at home) that you play.

But you're entitled to your own opinion.

So far I am mixed on his strategy. The real test will be how he adjusts for the next game and then going home.

I think today is probably a sacrifice game. Davis said he didn't sleep, Evans is out, no one is on the same page. We need to get this one out of the way so everyone can sit back and say they got the nerves out of the way.
Whatever was the game plan today...Monty needs to trash it. We don't look like the team that has been so well lately. I don't know if it was nerves or what, but we look lost.
Dell Demps PLEASE get us some scorers!

Not him (clearly), but if we lose 4 games in a row by 20 points each, Monty won't be back.

If the team really did have a hard and fast rule to make the playoffs, he mightve been better off losing a tie breaker to OKC than spearheading a completely underwhelming playoff team. Just seems the extra heat & light may not be a good thing if they are not competitive.

We won't ever be a title contender with Ryno. WAY to bad defensively.

You just said it in one of your posts above.

Not making the playoffs may have given Monty another excuse.

But there's a good chance that Monty is exposed for the sub-average coach he is. It might cement ownership's decision to fire him.

Oh man come on. Regardless of what happens this series, it's a great experience for this team. Especially with the road they travelled to get here. No regrets at all.

This has the Memphis game written all over it , only you can't blame it on a back to back

I agree. Frankly getting blown out on the national stage in 4 games with the team mostly healthy would probably be a bigger indictment of his long term viability as a championship leading head coach then missing the playoffs after a unhealthy season.

Well at least it would for me.

Thoughts on starting Dante at the 4 and putting him on Green Monday?

I don't get the demoralized comments. We're certainly playing stupid. Deer in the headlights. But not demoralized. Take a breath, peeps.
    Good positive energy.

    But also, yo mama's fat.

My god Ryan Anderson is a horrible defender. Good god. Sit the man

Anderson is nowhere near a excellent offensive rebounder.

This experience will also help Monty...

Geez, this thread is worst than a SaintsReport game day thread. I'm already looking ahead to game two. The experience is valuable for this young team. You gotta crawl before you walk.

This is about what I expected - hopeful for better - but still fearful of that 60pt playoff loss to nuggets back in 09. Experience is vital to our future growth.

It would help him on some team not called the Pelicans...

Stop reaching for a fight. I made no conclusions about the team not learning from this. I was merely speculating about Monty and his job status.

No. We are supposed to be perfect instantly.

Teams in the NBA led by very young players always play good in their first playoff game on the road. Monty should be drawn and quartered.
