Can Someone Help Me Out, Please? What In The World Is A Pellie?

I'm a native New Orleanian and a huge local pro basketball fan. I root for the Pelicans with much passion and ferver. But, for the life of me I can't stand to hear the word 'Pellie'. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard, especially when clueless national media types start nicknaming our nickname.

The short version has always been PELS.

Should be no different with it now the name of our basketball team.

I'm pretty pissed about this Pellies BS as well. It's up to the fanbase to work out what the nickname is. Pels fits, no one here says Pellies. Just another example of the Bro minded national sports media. Terrible "writers" turned skip bayless wanna be's trying to impose their egos onto everything that happens around them. I dont like it so I dont watch it, read it, listen to it, every time I come across Pellies I shut the window. The few that say it in the media are on the wrong side of history and the longer they stick to it the bigger their clown noses get.

I was ok when grantland posted it, I was like "wow, that's dumb" Then Fletcher Mackel got on tv and acted like he thought of it.

It was pretty great, Scott Walker called him out on the fact that he was saying the season was DOA several times, now he is all excited. The called him flip flop Fletcher on air the other night, it was pretty hilarious.

They did a montage of Fletcher the other night with his rants. Walker has been great reminding him and has been since his first "the season is over" rant back in January. It was pretty funny and to Fletchers credit he is playing along with it.
