Thread: Q-Pon Back To New Orleans?

    Q-Pon Back To New Orleans?

Would have been the perfect 3 & D guy here last year, seems like he took a step back. hopefully if it happens it only costs salmons. Would have felt much better about it if Cunningham wasn't here. Seems like theyre very similar except Q-Pon can back it out to the 3 point line

Dell wants Green but Pondexter is good for Salmons and 2ªr pick.

Not a big fan of Q-Pon's game. Doesn't seem to have much of a 3pt shot to be a 3 and D type of guy.

Could it be Green coming to Pelicans instead of Grizzlies?

One can wish but highly doubt it since Memphis has a first round pick.

No. I hope Demps does not trade for Pondexter. He helps Memphis at the expense of 3 years/$11 million of our cap. Pass

I love this deal. If we don't want him he is a moveable asset. Not the sexiest move but gives us great depth and more experience. Who cares if we have Cunningham that is a good problem to have. This move could also be setting up something bigger people just don't know yet. Q-Pon is still very young and his contract is a bargain to me if he plays anywhere like he was before. Definite inprovment for this team.

love it, before injuries Qpon looked like he could be a premier 3 and D in this league. He was making huge strides. Hopefully he is healthy.

When did he ever look like that? Out of a 5 year career he has looked pretty decent 1 year, that's it. I hope he fails his physical.

QPon has never looked anything close to a "premier" 3 and D in the NBA. He is a rotational player at best.

Every Memphis fan is glad he's gone. He is not a moveable asset. I bet Memphis is shocked they could get rid of him.

I am not a fan of the move at all if it is Salmons for him. Not at all. At best he is our backup SF after we get a solid one in the summer, but I like DC better there and I think he can be had cheaper.

Now, if QPon can become 2012-13 version of himself, it is a steal. But he has been good 1 out of 5 years in the NBA. The likelihood that the 1 year is the norm (as opposed to the 4) is not high IMO.

Basically, we declined the Rivers option to have maximum flexibility, then we go and do this which puts that 3+ mil back on the cap for a player who is replacement level over his career.

I hope we get a 2nd round pick for taking him off their hands at least

I agree. Salmons to Memphis, Rivers to Boston and then Nelson and QPon come here along with a 2nd rounder or two

He is more than a rotational player and we need guys like this to compete. He can play the 2 and 3. Yes we are hoping he can turn into what he was but it is worth it. We need a 3 the most and one that can hit the 3 with decent D. Cunningham is great to have but having both definitely does not hurt at all. Just like Cunningham has turned it around her Q-Pon easily can. I don't think he hampers anytning we do in the future except be a good asset to our team. If we have to move him he is definitely moveable especially as his contract starts to shorten.

That's what I think too. However, if he can become 2012-13 Q-Pon, this is a solid double. Heck, maybe a triple. If we got 2012-13 QPon, we might not even need a SF this summer. He was that good.

    O Rating - 114
    D Rating - 104

Not likely, but that is the hope.
