    Proposed trade

Gordon and Rivers and Salmons go to the KNICKS

Anderson and Jimmer go to CELTICS

PELICANS receive Stoudemire and Jeff Green.

Who likes it? Stoudemire is expiring. Getting Green balances the starting five. Gordon is gone.

Gordon Rivers and Salmons for Stoudemire? why does either team do it? we'd do it to replace Anderson in this scenario but why would New York agree to that? They could get something better for an expiring instead of cap killing Gordon
    never assume

They'd never do it because you're right, it makes no sense. I was trying to find a move that might work.

I think we could land J Nelson for Rivers and Russ.

I don't think we need green because it's a quick fix... We do need a SF better than Babbitt though.

So we're getting rid of 5 players for 2 with one point guard on the roster makes complete sense

Would would NY do this? Stout comes off the books this summer allowing them to go after multiple players. They add Gordon and they are stuck for another year.

I would love to do one of these:

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=man8soj

    or

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=l2r2adr

Both would allow us flexibility. This year if Green opts out (insert another Green) and in 2016 when Johnson's contract expires(Durant please)

These trades would also give us a back up plan to Asik with Plumlee who I think can be a good one. We could have a Lob City lite at SKC

I see why we do it, I see why Brooklyn does it, not sure why Celtics do it. Also Celtics are said to be high on Rivers so he would probably be going to Boston if something along this lines happened.

The problem with those trades are the Nets are like super high on Plumlee. I mean they didn't want to give him up to help get rid of Derons contract so I doubt they give him up for Gordon

The first one makes no sense. We trade all our guard depth for SFs?

The second one is better but as was pointed out, nets trading Plumlee is very low odds. He's the entire reason they want to move Lopez.

I've given up the idea of trading for SF. Perhaps another small move before the deadline. Next summer will make or break Dell. If Gordon doesn't opt out, he has to be stretched. That would save us 10 mil and with Rivers option not being picked up, we'll have about 23 mil to bring back Asik and grab a SF and some bench help......

None of these trades make sense for the other team.

I'll admit we come out best but from what I've read, the other teams benefit also.

There are reports that the Nets realize that their team is going nowhere and makes no sense to have to pay that much luxury tax. The three players that they are shopping are no longer worth their contracts so in order to get rid of them they'll need to be packaged with assets(they have less picks than us). Yes Plumlee is a hot commodity but they'll soon find out like we did with EG how hard it is to sell something in a buyer's market. This trade allows them to shed 10 million dollars immediately. There is also a higher possibility of trading EG's contract as an expiring and higher possibility of EG opting out compared to Joe Johnson.

The C's rebuild outlook is a little murkier. If we look at their history their re-build will probably resemble ours. Find a franchise player, AD/ Pierce, then use assets to trade for pieces, Our "Young Vets" to their "Big Three", because for some reason Boston just does not attract free agents. Everyone assumes that Jeff Green is gone after this season thus driving his trade worth down. The closer we get to the deadline the the less they'll get. Both trades give the C's assets that Ainge can buy low and sell high. Reke could fill their hole at sf and would fetch more than green on the market and Ryno might fetch them a future first from a contender at the deadline. And to put a cherry on top lets send them a future second round pick.

This trade is good for us too. The line up of

    Jrue/AR/Russ
    JoeJohnson
    Green/Babbitt
    AD/Cunningham
    Asik/Plumlee/Withey

and whichever one out of Reke/Ryno would not only give us cap flexibility in free agency this year and next but also give us an Asik back up plan and give us a better chance of getting into the playoffs and keepig our pick this year.
