Imagine having a GM who thinks giving Tyreke 4/48 is a good idea

Then imagine that players like Alec Burks signing similar deals.
Then realize Tyreke's contract decreases to $10 his last year.
Then imagine the cap raises and you can't even get a role player for $10 Million/yr.
Then imagine that after 3 years playing with the same core and staff that he develops his game and learns to play better in the system.
Then imagine he averages 15/5/5 while playing with a squad featuring Jrue, AD, and Ryno.
Then imagine that we're only a few breakdowns from having a positive record early in the season.
Then realize that he has an elite skill that he is easily in the top five at in driving to the rim.
Then imagine that he plays against shooting guards instead of small forwards after Gordon's gone.
Then imagine having the patience to deal with one of the youngest teams in the league going through growing pains for a few seasons until they become a perennial threat in the league.

    Not that hard to imagine.

The Thunder tried 3 different players on Reke in the fourth quarter. Reke had the house on fire...Scott Brooks had no water to put it out....

Tyreke please do this to GSW and PLEASE rock CLIPPERS for me. Hit those layups. And rehire Monty in case we fired him. Give me a 3-4 game winning streak. Sign Cunningham. Dump Rivers and get a backup pg.

He still makes 5-7 plays per game that make you wanna punch someone. He's simply not good enough to play as bone headed as he does. That won't change and that is sadly his fatal flaw.

The problem with Tyreke is that these games are the outlier this season, not the norm. If they become the norm he is an all-star. And even in this game he made a number of bonehead plays. A lot of his points came thanks to those around him(Jrue, Davis) and Tyreke being in an opportunistic position to capitalize. Which no one should take away from him because that is a skill in and of itself. However his game wasn't much different then any other night, but tonight his often selfish, kobe-esque game worked tonight. But that isn't the issue, the issue is the 5 nights out of six that it hasn't worked. When he can change his game to the point where 5 games out of 6 that his game does work, that is when he will become the player his diehard fans assert he is. When he can begin to recognize that the 4th quarter needs to be about more then just himself every night, that will be the day he can truly take another step in his career. When he can begin to discern between the nights like this where he should take over and the nights when he is not on his game and other teammates are, and he recognizes how he can contribute to the greater good of the team by working for them, that is the day he takes his largest leap.

We shall definitely see our fair share of boneheaded plays on the road next.

Guess we have to take the good with the bad, as opposed to most of the bench which is the bad with the atrocious.
