Thread: Austin, the blind PG or the Greedy one?

Austin, the blind PG or the Greedy one?

Well which one is it? He never sets anyone up. Babbit and other options have to raise their hand when there open and he still won't pass the ball.

Rivers is combo guard. He will never be a PG. His skills are best when playing off the ball and attacking the basket.

Rivers has an above average first step and he is working on his finishing. Unless there is a weak side rotation leaving a post man open for a lob or bounce pass, Rivers will try to finish in traffic 9/10 times. Rivers has been a half-solid facilitator thus far, but he is not a fan of kicking for the 3 (unless he is the recipient).

The only person crazy enough to think Rivers is a pg is Monty.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

He's just trying to go through the motions of the offense & look for Ryno 90% of the time

Rivers is a small ball two guard ....IMO. He's capable of guarding PG in small stretches, but offensively he shouldn't be allowed to bring the ball up unless it's on a the fast break.......A stint in the D-League in his rookie year could've helped him develop or define a niche in his game....IMO

    How's he a small ball 2? He's 6'5" w/ 6'7.25" arms.

His measurements doesn't translate to his game...He doesn't shoot over guys his height or strong enough to impose his will on guys his size...You ever wonder why Monty plays him on smaller guys ?

Uh. Monty has played Rivers even at SF before. He usually puts him on the best guard on the court unless Jrue is playing with him.

He doesn't shoot over guys because he doesn't shoot pull up jumpers. His game is 99% drive to the basket or spot up shooting.

Please don't let the last game fool yet. He was literally taller than every guard Denver has.

I didn't watch the game tonight but I watched last night and Rivers kept looking for his while missing open guys for three. One of the worst games he's played this season.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

Rivers hurts the ball movement in the second unit so much and waits to long to make a pass.
