This team just seems slow on both sides of the ball.

How does Jimmer get the blame? He played the amount of minutes someone like him should with the guard depth we have. He came in did ok but did nothing to get super hot to be a must stay. Gordon came in for him being on a long rest as he should have.

Not after you watched him play for your team. He's been bad for a few years.

How the heck is Dallas out-rebounding us so bad?

How is it possible that Ryno s a good offensive rebounder but bad defensive rebounder?
The most overused words on Pelicansreport.com. Wrongly, I might add.

ELITE - (often used with a plural verb) the choice or best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons.

GREAT - notable; remarkable; exceptionally outstanding

These words should not be used lightly

Our defenders are being forced to help and are out of position

This team isn't cohesive. That comes with time, but this isn't year one.

Above all though, Anthony needs to take control of this team. The miscommunication needs to stop.

He was solid for Utah last year. He is much better than Salmons.

They're out working and executing us.

By which I mean, they are working harder than us, and killing us execution style.

Back to playing the hard hedge on defense. No shock the defense is suffering.

Why are we going back to this terrible system?

What guard depth? Gordon is overpaid trash. Monty had to get him back on the court as fast as he could so he could stink it up some more?

Our offensive sets are basically whoever has the ball shoot it. It seems as though they're no plays being run

He usually isn't getting boxed out on the offensive glass.

Exactly. Gordon can't defend Ellis, so Asik steps up to stop penetration, and the ball is thrown over the top. It's the poor guard play tonight, that is killing the entire defense.

Rebounding is almost all about effort and positioning.

He doesn't give the same effort on the defensive glass, so he doesn't get in good position.

People need to understand this is game 2 against a damn good veteran team that got even better this off season. We are young and guys are almost all new playing together we will have some early miscues. Positives are the rotations to me. We also are having a lot of bad breaks with the rim on open looks. We will be ok. The Gordon needs to be benched also needs to stop cause this is basketball slow starts happen.

    Offense isn't the problem

I've seen several weak hedges where the guard just runs by both defenders.

Is EG just taking naps standing up when he's on the floor?

Granted, the defense sucks, but exactly what offense are we running? I see guys running into each other on cuts. Is Monty clueless are is it that the players are just tuning him out?

Its horrible! They hedge so much and then everyone stops... leaving Dal gaurds to stroll right in the lane, forcing our bigs to help and allowing their bigs to do whatever.

I can live with missed shots those usually tend to start going in our favor. but poor defense should be driving monty crazy right now.

several sounds good when it seems Dallas scored 45 of the 66 points on PnR.

I'm against the hard hedge because it puts two defenders outside the 3 point line. Basically allowing the offense to play 5 on 3, and smart teams like Dallas run the PnR with dallas so he can't block their shots. I just hate the system.
