Would be absolutely incredible to get him but I think the spurs match whatever he gets.

There are a hell of a lot more players who could be considered MOST overrated in the league....he can hit the three and defend isn't that exactly why ariza just got paid

He will get the max and SA should match it.

I think he's a max player for sure if he can play 70+ games per season. He's very good.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

To be fair Ariza is looking like a steal right now based on the market value for other SF's. A front loaded contract at 8.5 million or so the first two years, 7.8 and 7.4 the final two years. While Kawhi is gonna get what? 15 million a year? Guys like Parsons and Hayward are making nearly twice what Ariza is despite not really justifying double the cost for their production compared to Ariza.

Don't get me wrong, I would love Kawhi on this team. But the Spurs will match. The sun is setting on the Parker/Duncan/Ginobolli era in SA and Kawhi is the first foundational piece in their new era.

No, we want to fill out the roster with Gerald Green types

I'd much rather go after a Demarre Caroll or a Draymond Green over a Gerald Green or Jeff Green given their expected difference of pay next year.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
