Thread: Thunder lose Westbrook to hand injury

Thunder lose Westbrook to hand injury

Injured his right hand in the second quarter of the LAC game, ruled out for the rest of the game. Seriousness of injury TBD on Friday, but this obviously has the potential to devastate the Thunder as they are already without KD and Morrow for several weeks. Again, we won't know how serious the injury actually is until further tests are conducted tomorrow.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

So with KD and possibly Westbrook out does OKC play to its strength and depend on its bigs, developing Adams to be their 3rd star.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

This could be good and bad for the Thunder.

Bad in they are going to start in a huge hole from a standings point of view by the time Durant and Westbrook are both back together.

Good in that when they do come back guys like Ibaka and Adams will have some solid development time under their belt as focal points and a guy like Jones might be able to cement the James Harden bench guy role with some heavy minutes and confidence building and make the Thunder a stronger team in the long run.

The Clippers look pretty bad. Its the first game and its the Clippers so I doubt they have another poor game like this many more times this season but outside of Griffin and CP3, that starting lineup looks bad offensively.

I feel like CP3 is running into the same problem he had with us. One good offensive bigman and then a bunch of over the hill and/or streaky spot up shooters that can't create, forcing CP3 to do everything.

Did anyone see the guy in the crowd heckle Westbrook and he got pretty pissed?

    Typical LA fan.

Yeah, I feel like with people like that, if they're bad enough, the player should have some power in requesting they leave and get them kicked out. Would get them to behave better

I say no. They will be playong massive catchup in a tough western conference where .500 wont get you in the playoffs. I also think if Houston has an injury to Harden they don't make it either. My .02

This is a great opportunity for us to try and gain some ground on a team we all know will be in the playoffs (OKC).

Everyone up here is all gloomy.

"Welcome to my 2013-14 Season!", I tell them.

Seems he has a right hand fracture. Expected out until mid Dec.

So they make a move for another player that can complement their bigs?

How many times do we play OKC with both Durant and Westbrook out?
