2015-16 Pelicans Mardi Gras Uniform Concept w/ Sleeves

Let me just state for the record that I am and have been against sleeved uniforms since their inception. I thought this fad was dying a slow death until Adidas and the NBA chose to resuscitate it with the arrival of new alternates this year for Houston, Orlando and Golden State. If the trend in deed does stick around, I think we have a great opportunity to use that template for our Mardi Gras set should we get them next year.

After reading comments about the likes and dislikes of the old set, the one negative against them was the two-tone design with purple in the front and green in the back. I figured a sleeved jersey could solve the color balance by making the body purple and the sleeves green. It gives the illusion of a shirt underneath the jersey which is something that no other team using sleeved alternates are currently doing.

Let me know what you think and thanks for looking.

I just wish you had 100% control of our jersey designs, even with as little ad I care about it, you have fat better designs than I see executed. Good work man.

The Mardi Gras jerseys would have to do with our city and heritage, right?

If so, it would have to be sleeved.

That's for this upcoming season. Hopefully they get so much negative backlash about the sleeves they change it for the 2015-2016 season.

Yeah. Silver did say he's open to getting rid of them. I don't think they will, though. They are making so much money. I like them personally, but only as an alternate.

Yeah I doubt they get rid of it, just wishful thinking on my part.

These are the ONLY sleeved jerseys I like. Probably because the stripes on the side continue onto the shorts.

For sleeved jerseys, I like it.

You know your design rocks when it makes the possibility of a sleeved jersey somewhat fathomable.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

BigDub, these are phenomenal. Seriously, the Pels should hire you as their jersey designer.

I hate the sleeve designs as well, but these are OK because the design of the jersey is excellent.

Dub I love these, even with the sleeves this is something I would buy at their Gift Shoppe. You've put out some impressive designs over the last year.

I would like to see something really over the top for the Mardi Gras uni's. These are really kind of plain. Not bad but I'd like to see them really push the envelope.

What do you have in mind? This is all for fun so anybody can give me ideas and I'll put them to my template.

Here is the sleeveless version that I did. Nothing special except for adding shoulder loops that are shaped like a crescent.

I really believe the base color for the Mardi gras will be gold. (shiny Saints gold)
I also believe they are going back to the 2 toned.

I do like your fleur-de-lis design on the fabric, but I'd like to see a different fleur-de-lis. (instead of the 2014 All Star, jagged one)

As usual, your professionalism in design and demeanor are appreciated.

These are great except the green is too much for mardi gras or maybe that's just me. That's what threw me off with the last MG alts. I would add more gold or just swap gold and green and that would be awesome I bet. Also I would possibly add a mask(s) to the jersey it would really give it that Mardi Gras flair. And heck instead of a solid color what about green purple and gold checkered/diamond pattern on the jersey? You gotta make them scream party lol

Thanks for the compliment. It wouldn't surprise me if they eventually released a gold alternate whether or not it be the Mardi Gras or another stand alone set. Even though both Sacramento and Washington couldn't pull off metallic gold, I think it wouldn't be phase people to see us donning a uniform from it.

BTW, the fleur de lis that I used is the one they use in the main logo. I did it that way for continuity.
