Too many shoot-first guards. It's making me sick, especially with how efficient Brow & Manimal have been.
The most overused words on Pelicansreport.com. Wrongly, I might add.
ELITE - (often used with a plural verb) the choice or best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons.
GREAT - notable; remarkable; exceptionally outstanding
These words should not be used lightly
Can't wait for the game to start...
"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
AD is visibly frustrated. He's had a bunch of easy transition opportunities, but per usual the guards have missed him.
AD is playing amazing Defense, but these guards are the biggest ball hogs I ever seen they refuse to give him the ball.
Damnit they made the right read that time but Davis misses the easy finish.
Also, Klay needs to chill out with these jumpshots.
I don't know how Harden even made the team....
OK so he made it because of his offense. Definably not his defense. That's just embarrassing.
Davis is dominating on the defensive end.
Need a little bit more ball movement, too much standing around and p&r, not as effective for an international zone. I don't think any of the guards are suitable for international play save maybe Klay Thompson, too much one on one and not enough court awareness.
I'm also dissapointed in ADs play this game, biting a bit too much on defense and then arguing the calls, and then expecting superstar calls on the other end when most of the time it was good defense. Still young though, but want to see him not get upset with the calls and play through it.
So how are our guy's chances for the FIBA MVP award?
If I had to pick 3 players to narrow it down I would say Davis, Faried and Thompson. Thompson isn't a starter but he's come off the bench and hit big shots when the games were close. I'd say that its more down to Davis and Faried with an edge to Davis. But then again I'll admit when I'm being biased and right now I am .
I just think the contributions Davis is making on the defensive end is something that cant be measured and something that no one else on the team is doing. Faried is rebounding and hustling, but no one is blocking or altering shots like Davis is.
I too agree it is down to Davis and Faried. I think Davis needs to have a strong final game to really cement it though. He has taken a more backseat role these last few games. Faried has really blown me away though. He does everything right. He hustles, gets boards, plays good on defense, brings energy, is near the top at scoring and rebounding for the team and is doing it at a very high percentage.
Right now I would honestly have to lean slightly to Faried as MVP right now. Just due to the high level of consistency in every game.
