I think most of the centers are similar in overall value. This team is a nightmare on both ends of the court too. Four of those players are all timers on both defense and offense and they are all athletic enough to run as well. You wouldnt have too much pouting about not being able to shoot enough since only one player is a real volume shooter. I like Malone but dont see how he rates above barkley or duncan. I can se how some people would put him above KG but I wouldnt do that either.

It's that the Hornets unashamedly quit so quickly in Game 4 after fans in New Orleans showed up this season with greater regularity than the team could have ever dreamed, shaming misinformed know-it-alls like me who kept telling you that local residents couldn't possibly invest their time and money into something as trivial as rooting for the local basketball team while still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. - Mark Stien ESPN

I always pick Larry on an all time teams because of his shot chart. You'll always have great inside shooters on these teams, but not even KD can match the open 3-pt prowess. It would be even more deadly in today's game.

Bird and Durant have nearly identical career 3P% with Durant putting up more than twice as many each game.
Yea, but Bird started his career playing more of a PF role and had a 20% 3P% for a few years there. After he started hitting his prime and shooting 1000 shots a day, he was above 40% constantly and won the 3-pt contest 3 times. He was a late bloomer, but totally lights out in his prime until he got injured. I'd also argue he faced tougher perimeter defense with the handchecking and close guarding allowed during that time.
He also had a much closer 3PT line.
You are right: http://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_history.html
Introduced as 22ft in the corners and 23ft 9in at the top of the key in 79-80, shortened to 22ft all around in 94-95, then back to original in 97-98.
bird was the truth..ive been watching a lot of retro games and i can see why KD says he models his game after bird. bird was the most multidimensional player ever...defense, no look passes, game changing steals and blocks, fast break dribble and push ability as a big, deep deep fearless range usually in big moments, and rarely takes BAD or selfish shots.
i just wish nba tv would show more wilt, early kareem, bill russell, and early tape of fan fans like mcgrady, vince carter, penny hardaway, spree well
How do you not take the top 2 dominant players all time, and they play D too!
Stockton 1 - just dish it
Jordan - 5
L James - 5
Dirk- 2
Hakeem- 2
Hornets time, I agree. .
Isaiah Thomas $3
Michael Jordan $5
LeBron James $5
Kevin Garnett $1
Hakeem Olajuwon $1
I'd take Olajuwon even if he was $5. In his prime he was unstoppable. Some of these prices are a bit whack.
I would literally take Bird over Durant 10 out of 10 times. Bird would destroy Durant, its not even close. Bird is better than Durant at everything + the absolute killer attitude.
