He isn't getting pushed around by Cousins nearly as bad as he normally does. Still a bad match-up, but better than last season.

"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin

No, that is just how this team was built. Look for the theme to continue into the actual tournament.

If this were a real game it would be more of the same.
The most overused words on Pelicansreport.com. Wrongly, I might add.

ELITE - (often used with a plural verb) the choice or best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons.

GREAT - notable; remarkable; exceptionally outstanding

These words should not be used lightly

    Davis is 2/6..
    5 jump shots

I dunno. Cousins is going pretty hard right now.

He is taking more jumpers than I would like, but the guards are also missing him on the break.

I like Cousins v Asik much better than Cousins v AD

  9. #134
Im actually ok with him taking jumpers because I want to see how much improvement has come since last season. So far, I'm disappointed. But small sample size and all, I'll reserve judgement. Still if I had never seen any of these players play before tonight I would not be considering Davis one of the bright spots out of tonights big men.

Well, yeah. Davis does look physically stronger now. I don't think West or Aldridge will be able to back him down with much success this season.

AD looks a little fatigued despite that nice dunk, perhaps the Cousins matchup is taking a bit of a toll. Like others have said, I don't think there's a worse match up for him.

Plumlee has guarded Cousins this quarter, so far. Monty put him in for that exact reason.

When he's not on Cousins he's on Durant. Tough assignments forAD tonight

Uggghhh, I'm not sure I can bring myself to root for Harden when the FIBA games start.

Agreed. It's great experience for him, at least.

Well Derrick Rose doesn't seem like he has missed any time. As explosive as ever.

  17. #142
And honestly, everyone is shooting bad on jump shots tonight it looks like.

He hasn't taken 1 jumper. I need to see his progression there.

Is there a box score for this game?

  20. #145
    Uh-oh, Paul George looks hurt.

  21. #146
That looked horrific. Time to take AD out

  22. #147

It is not for the squeamish

Damnnn. I thought he just bumped his head or something. And kudos to Monty for running on the court like that.

    R.I.P. to HunnyB/FlyGirl

Game over. End this on a low note and save everybody from a useless injury

  25. #150
It was like that Kevin Ware injury, for those who are wondering but don't want to see the sickening replay.
