Thread: Rashard Lewis?

    Rashard Lewis?

Just wondering that since Dallas voided their contract with Rashard Lewis, do you think the Pels should take a flyer on him? He, most likely, wouldn't entertain the possibility, but for argument's sake he did...he would be a legit 3 point threat we need to start for us. He probably wouldn't need an exorbitant amount of minutes due to his age and physical health.

    What say you?

I say no... Another injuried guy to this team? And that old? For veteran purposes, we can sign someone better than him... Bad signing it would be

if Dallas looks at the medical issues and says "you know what... I think we'd rather Al-Farouq Aminu"... that should tell you something

Can I stop every one of these future threads by reminding people that we have 15 guys under contract?

Or will these threads continue regardless?

    They'll continue regardless, Mac.

I know he's injured and I know that we have 15 guys under contract. I'm not one to normally post these types of threads, but I feel we lack a 3 that can shoot with big game experience. Lewis has that. He would be another reclamation project and would probably benefit in the role of being a guy that sits on the outside and shoots 3 in this offense. I like Salmons as a bench guy, but I'm not sold on him starting. Miller and Babbitt are both adequate, but not starting material to me either. Just my opinion...

Always been a fan of Shard. But I don't know. He's obviously on the decline in his career and I'm not sure if he'll ever be a viable player again.

Well one huge problem, he's a stretch 4! He could play the 3 back in the day when he had more athleticism, but I don't think he could now. We have the best stretch 4 in the game and another for insurance.

He was starting at the 3 this past season for Miami. Granted, Kawhi Leonard ate him alive. I think with Asik and AD behind him we can sacrifice the athleticism on D for a guy that can probably still light it up from outside. I'm sure he could be had for the vet minimum to prove himself. How long is he projected to be out?

    Rashard Lewis?

Maybe but how you know that he wasn't playing the 4 and James was playing the 3? You don't really! I know that's how I would play them and who they guard would be based on matchups.

But if he was, we don't have Lebron James on our team either. He wouldn't start at the 3 for any other team in the league IMO.

You might as well put Ryan Anderson at the 3 cause they have about the same athleticism now and are the same size.

I don't think he'd be better than someone like babbit. So let's just keep the cheaper guy on a full roster no?

I knew things were bad. I never knew things were this bad.
But in all seriousness, Ryno would be a better offensive and defensive option and I hate the thought of putting Ryno at the three. Not only that but Rashard is injured. And not only that bit he was just bought out by a club who was going to use him as a backup. He put up some good stats when he was on steroids 5 years ago aand has been terrible since. He is only decent in a very limited role. I dont see where he has a role on all but a couple teams in the league assuming he comes back healthy. In conclusion... no.

Man Rashard Lewis way past starter role. Miami would have been better putting james jones in the game. I haven't looked at the stats but it feels like he missed a lot of wide open shots frequently when he played with the heat.

Sometimes it's not about the players ability, it's about the players perceived ability. Roll the tape back, Miami was much better with Lewis on the floor, even if Lewis wasn't necessarily good.

    That said... pass on Lewis.
