    Blake Griffin out for FIBA

It was announced that Blake has pulled off the fiba roster. Do yall think this means more playing time for AD? because it seemed like a lock for Blake to make the team. Who do you think replaces him?

And if it does mean more playing time for AD good or bad thing?

He got scared knowing AD would take the starting spot.

Honestly that's the first thing I thought. He realized AD would be starting in his spot and he cried and quit.

I'm for anything that allows Anthony to showcase his talents. The opportunity to hang out and play with your peers is amazing, it also can't hurt when it comes to recruiting talent to come play with you. I believe coach K will start him and I can't wait to see these games.

It's like the world cup of basketball. It's just nowhere near as big because soccer is so big everywhere else around the world.

Worth noting the event takes place every 4 years, but will be next held 5 years from now to get off the World Cup of Soccer's current schedule.

The rule and format changes section is worth a read as the structure of the rounds has changed since last time. Also, "this will be the first time the new expanded free throw lane, the restricted arc, and extended three point line (6.6 m [21' 8"] from the basket at the corners; 6.75 m [22' 1.75"] elsewhere) take effect in the tournament."

Also, whatever country wins FIBA automatically qualifies for Rio Olympics, like they need that.

yeah they will be playing against each other, monty comments on it in the "interesting read on AD and his role on the USA team" thread.

I don't think AD will be starting to be honest... In those FIBA competitions, coaches usually go with smaller lineups, mostly because outside of USA and a couple of other teams, nobody has a 7 footer and a 6-11 forward to start huhahah

I believe he will start 2 SFs next to a true center, it's a pretty different game compared to the NBA

I agree with the two sfs part, but I think that AD gets the start at Center, the only person that can challenge him for the role of true center is Demarcus but they need Defense not scoring. Also AD has more experience playing international ball from when he was a rookie

It will probably be two PGs... Curry and someone, then PG and KD, then Anthony

    Edit: Forgot about Harden.

International ball usually doesn't go big like that.

    Kyrie, Curry, Durant, George, Davis

Someone will have to go against Asik. Turkey is in our group.

Even if that was the lineup, Durant would play pf not george.

I would assume the starting lineup in most games would be Curry, Harden, George, Durant and AD.
