Thread: Anthony Davis and His Next Contract with the New Orleans Pelicans

What incentive do the Pels have to S&T? We can just match any RFA offer in that case. The only way AD could get out would be if he accepted the QA to become a UFA the following year. But as has been mentioned already, he won't do that.

There is NO strong possibility he will demand a S&T. That's just silly.

Being with a contender or playing in a large market will greatly increase his endorsement monies. Just look at Chris Paul’s situation with endorsements since he arrived in L.A.. Do you think that would have happened if he stayed in NOLA? It’s a no brainy for the agent to sign a max, but will Davis and/or his father force a trade is the real question. The sign and trade scenario looms large if the team does not win.
as mentioned, the only way he is getting out is to take the QA. and to do so, means he is playing another rookie contract year, and the QA. as opposed to taking 100+ mill over 5 years. I doubt davis is going to make more from endorsements this early to cover the differential, even moving to a big market. according to forbes, paul only made 5.5 mill in 2013. the way he is tracking, he will get those deals anyway if he continues. even without big market airtime, a lot of fans are already recognizing his talent and have him as the next threat to the LeBron/Durant mvp battle.
