Another Ryno-Rivers Fake Trade/Rumor

A poster on another Pelicans fan board used this rumor:

to invent this trade ("invent" meaning the poster made it up, just to be clear here):

Pelicans receive:
SF, Anthony Bennett
PF, Tristan Thompson

TWolves receive:
PF, Ryan Anderson
SG, Dion Waiters

Cavs receive:
PF, Kevin Love
SG, Austin Rivers

Fogetting for a minute the report posted here on another thread that says that Rivers is here to stay, what does everyone think? Personally, I hate it.

That would be the worst trade of all time for us and I hope whoever came up with that meant it as a joke.

I think this is a textbook example of everything bad about the world of Amateur NBA blogosphere/fan board pundity. A blogger makes up a rumor, or translate a wish into a rumor, then a dumb fan looks at rosters, gets the ESPN trade machine, and starts randomly plugging in players until it works, starting from the false assumptions that we are tryiong to trade Ryno and Rivers.

Perfectly encapsulates why so many fan trades are wildly unrealistic.

The fans team typically always gets more in return then what they give out, one or all of there trade partners are receiving less then realistic returns that often don't fit with what they would be seeking and they wrap it all up with a bunch of unrealistic assumptions about why these teams would accept their proposal that they know deep down primarily only benefits them.
