Championship.
Maybe Davis has developed his 3-ball enough to be a threat from way out there. I think he could certainly guard 3's. It may seem like a ridiculous idea (ok, it probably is), but it would be interesting to see. Our starting lineup would be huge and dangerous.
Even if he could, why would you want him to have to? He's too valuable near the rim. Even if he's not a great technical defender yet, the threat of him getting to a shot near the rim is exponentially higher when he's patrolling the paint. Guys who like to get to the rim will pass out or change their mind just knowing the Brow is there waiting. If that player is being GUARDED by the Brow, it's less of a threat because then they know exactly where he is, probably in a trail position and can't get to their shot even with his long arms.
If people are looking to worsen incredibly our team give gordon a 20 mln/y 5 year contract and play him at the 5.
Seriously guys, davis at the 3? No. No. And. No. Just no.
On second thought, why stop there?

Then we play small-ball with the reserves.
The most overused words on Pelicansreport.com. Wrongly, I might add.
ELITE - (often used with a plural verb) the choice or best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons.
GREAT - notable; remarkable; exceptionally outstanding
These words should not be used lightly
We're not after monroe
We'd be involved as a 3rd team to get rid of Ryno
Just throwing it out. Sign and traded Deng from Cleveland?
Unless Woj or Stein are reporting the rumor I won't believe it and it make zero sense for us to still be interested in Monroe.
Monroe is a better player then Asik.

Different player I would say, and I'll take an 8M Asik before a max Monroe.
Asik: Defense - 9 Offense - 5
Monroe: Defense - 6 Offense 8
Pels need defense, not more offense. That + price tag and Asik >>> Monroe for us
@mcnamara247
Yeah, and those numbers are arbitrary in some ways, but the undeniable facts is that Asik's rebounding and defense are the only elite skill sets amongst the two players and his contract will be nearly half of Monroe's. I was never on the Monroe train, and I love that getting Asik doesn't make going after Monroe a priority
Asik is a vastly superior defender to AD. I don't consider many players 10's - maybe two or three like J. Noah.
If AD can get to Asik's level this year, we could be something special. Offense, I think AD is limited in a lot of ways right now, but he is working on the things he needs to work on. If he improves his dribble drive and post game this summer the way that he improved his jumper last summer, he can average 23-25 ppg this year.
He's averaging 20 points a game with two post moves that are reliable. A straight hookshot, and spinning out to face up.
His faceup game is a lot better. Once he mixes in some drives to spins and the lil' up and under, no one will check him. Too quick. Too long. Too skilled.
