"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin

Rockets will get New Orleans' first rounder for next season in exchange for Omer Asik, I'm told.

I do not like giving up our 1st rounder again. I hope it is protected better.

Lottery protected, I hope. And do the Rockets have a 2nd they can toss in? Or maybe one Chandler Parson's slightly used?

    *sigh* I can dream, can't I?

Hope Randerson is not involved in this.. please Dell.

    Yes, yes, and yes.

That first rounder will be a late 20 so yeah do it. Now on to landing the sf of the future.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

How can that be? I thought you couldn't trade first round picks in consecutive years. Am I totally wrong on that?

It had been rumored Houston may have to include a #1 to get rid of him. Instead we are giving them a #1 to take him (and pay an additional $6 million in salary because of the poison pill, offset by $1.5 million Houston will send us)? All for a guy on an expiring deal?

You cannot "owe" two consecutive 1st rounders. We do not owe anyone anything (2013 draft is over).

If he is, then we HAVE to be doing some kinda sign and trade deal to end up with Parsons.

Only way losing Ryno becomes worth it.

Isn't the rule that you can't owe consecutive picks? Once the 10th pick was finalized with the 76ers, we could shop next year's

  19. #19
we gave a pick for a bad contract?

  20. #20
If Rockets are clearing space for a big name free agent, I don't see them taking back Ryno

  21. #21
This is nuts. I hope we are not giving up anyone other than EG and that won't happen.

  22. #22
    I don't like this

  23. #23
What had contract did we get?

Trade won't be official till July 8th, which will be after the draft allowing such to happen.

Stupid if we give up a non-lottery protected first round pick for a one year rental that dries up our salary cap room.
