"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin

Rockets will get New Orleans' first rounder for next season in exchange for Omer Asik, I'm told.
I do not like giving up our 1st rounder again. I hope it is protected better.
If we lost Ryno, I'm gonna lose my mind
We better get a pick this year also
Lottery protected, I hope. And do the Rockets have a 2nd they can toss in? Or maybe one Chandler Parson's slightly used?
*sigh* I can dream, can't I?
Hope Randerson is not involved in this.. please Dell.
Yes, yes, and yes.
That first rounder will be a late 20 so yeah do it. Now on to landing the sf of the future.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.
Asik, Anderson and Davis is the best big man rotation in the league!
It had been rumored Houston may have to include a #1 to get rid of him. Instead we are giving them a #1 to take him (and pay an additional $6 million in salary because of the poison pill, offset by $1.5 million Houston will send us)? All for a guy on an expiring deal?
Rockets will also send New Orleans $1.5 million cash as part of the deal.

The Pelicans will absorb Asik to help clear salary cap space as they chase big-ticket free agents Carmelo Anthony & LeBron James.

If Rockets are clearing space for a big name free agent, I don't see them taking back Ryno
This is nuts. I hope we are not giving up anyone other than EG and that won't happen.
Stupid if we give up a non-lottery protected first round pick for a one year rental that dries up our salary cap room.
