I honestly don't know why golden state wants to keep thompson? I mean, he's going to want max money or something like that, what's best than selling while his value is the highest without having to overpay him by millions?

And knowing that, why does Minny want him as the cornerstone of a deal in which they are giving away a top 12 NBA player??

Yes, but that is less baffling. I mean, we're talking about trading for love, not some crappy reserve player. I can't find a decent comparison but let's imagine gordon is on a minimum salary. And the spurs ask us to trade gordon for kahwi. Why the heck would we say no?

I mean minnesota is...minnesota. I personally won't even start to wonder what goes inside saunders' head. But as baffling as it is their wanting thompson so bad...is why, why would the warriors not get rid of a perfectly average player who is going to get paid 11+ mln per year for a STAR player, who is still one of the best at his position?

I seriously don't get it. Why is thompson regarded so highly?

I mean, at this point we could seriously propose a straight up trade ryno for love, if the best minnesota can get is thompson...and maybe they'll even have to put a first round pick to get him!

So you're saying GS is arguing anonymously with itself over rumors?

Or Minny is really that stupid - believing Klay is the best piece they can get back. If this is true - if they take Lee and Klay for Love, then GS gets a steal, which makes me sad.

I am with you guys, Thompson (while a great piece) is not a cornerstone player. He is a top 50 player, but that doesn't make him a cornerstone player. Him getting max money would be like Gordon getting max money, only Thompson has proved more. I say let him go. If I am Steve Kerr it is a no brainer, I can win a title with Steph Curry, Kevin Love, Andrew Bogut, AI and Crawford/Green/Blake. That is a damn scary team if healthy.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Yep, the second the ink dries on Klay's extension, he goes from one of the most underpaid players to one of the most overpaid. Especially if he goes to Minnesota - you know he is gonna want close to max or max to stay in that city. If I were Minny, I would wait it out. If Chicago misses on Melo, they got better assets. Heck, I like the Denver deal more (Faried, Chandler, and Afflalo). Klay and Lee is like taking 30 cents on the dollar

I wonder why Denver is willing to give up that much for Love. Is it because all that amazing young talent is coming up on new contracts? It seems like between Lawson, Faried and the rest of those guys, with another year in that system could be something potent.

I would love to see the Thunder trade for Shumpert. Makes it easier for the Pelicans to get Thabo cheaper. Man wouldn't it be sweet tho if we can buy a mid to late 1st rounder like from the Bulls or somebody!

Buying a pick from the Bulls by taking on Dunleavy for PJax and a future 2nd would be awesome.

    That would be so ideal!

How much does a Kevin Love trade happening/ not happening effect the rest of the trade rumors?

Rumor is they offered those picks for Love (with Taj and Snell).

So Duncan will exercise option on his '2014-15 contract and he will revisit his future with Spurs next summer.

As expected. I didn't think he would retire. He may have thought about it, but Parker isn't retiring for another season I believe... so might as well give it one more run.

The way I've heard it is GSW called the Lakers about trading Klay for the #7 pick, which they would flip to Minny for Love, but it was shot down.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was also GSW spreading the rumors of Flip Saunders trying to trade Love for deals he knows he won't get in order to be able to tell Kevin Love that at least he tried to move him.

Wait so the Denver trade would be a three team trade with Orlando involved because I thought Afflalo played for the magic, or is this an old trade that I don't remember.

Orlando would get #11 for moving Afflalo
