What's his target? 240? He should be able to pack on 3 pounds by the time camp starts, I'd think.

I don't care about this seasons target. My question is: Whats the long term target? What will he weigh when he is 25?

Because this is two straight summers where he put on weight and he still looks like he has plenty of room to add without getting so bulky that it slows him down. I mean, 255-260 seems very reasonable, no?

Lamarcus Aldridge is 240 & Monty loves comparing the two's builds so I would guess 240, maybe a little more assuming he'll shed a good amount during the season

True. True. Only two things I've seen is of him doing curls and working out his arms. Granted, I'm sure he's doing a lot more that we are seeing. But he's gotta build his core and lower body up too.

250-255 would be my preferred weight. But Yeah he does have to translate that weight into his lower body.

He weighs more than Embiid - you know, the next great "center"

Not sure how to, ahem, twittify my comment:

    John Reid @JohnReid64
Pelicans coach Monty Williams said Anthony Davis is at 230 pounds. He weighed 212 at the end of last season, according to Williams.
    9:55 AM - 30 Sep 2013

So his combine weight was 222, then he got down to 212 at the end of his first season until going back up to 230 last offseason. 7 pounds isn't too bad for only being about a month into the offseason.

In his prime, I think he is 6'11" 255.

    thanks

I think he gets over 240 for the start of the season if he's already up to 237, maybe around 240-45, and I'm lovin it

Target weight I'd like to see is around 250. I want to say that when he came in they said their 2 year goal for him was 235. 7lbs 1st summer and another 7-8 5the next. The fact he is 237 I'm not surprised.

  15. #15
I think he'll get up to 245ish (maybe slightly under), then drop down after camp to the mid-to-high 230s. Something like 238 would be great if he can make it through camp and preseason at that weight.

Long-term, I see him in the 250s as well, and I think it suits him perfectly. Put him at Center, and he's unguardable.

I'd like to see him top off his weight around 240-245. To me asking him to get all the way up to 255-260 just seems like too much and I think it may take away from his explosiveness. Also where is he putting on his weight? He was on the floor A LOT last season, way too much for a big man. Needs to get stronger in his base so he doesn't have to hit the floor 5 times a game.

I could have sworn that last year I read that the training staff's ideal weight for him was somewhere in the low-to-mid 240s.

I seen Alexis vid also that guy is seriously a stick

    245 sounds perfect

Duncan and Garnett play at 250.
That might be a little heavy for AD.
I'm thinking 240 -245 is his ideal playing weight
    Where did he improve?
    Every stat across the board
Putting in an extra 15 #'s might translate into improved D but otherwise I think he's on his way on O despite weight
    Kevin Durant plays at 240?

Durant carrying a 50 pound bag of dirt wouldn't weigh 240.

    Pffft. Nah. I'm just messing.

No way Durant can carry a 50 pound bag of dirt.
