    Pelicans Randerson will have surgery

After consulting with a team of physicians, it has been determined that surgery will provide Anderson the best opportunity to have a full recovery. Anderson will undergo surgery on April 8, 2014.

Yikes! I guess this would be a spinal fusion type procedure?

Hope the surgery is successful and he makes a full recovery.

Will this effect Ryno being available for next season?

    Hope he recovers fully.

What is the recovery time for something like this?

Well I guess we'll have to see what they say after the surgery.

No, let's not start that. You don't always rush into surgery. You follow treatments and such and see how things react. Surgery should be your last option. Especially when dealing with spines, backs and necks and such. Let's just hope he fully recovers.

Not really. Esp with the back you want to see if it'll heal naturally with PT before surgery ever.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

A lot of people don't know about herniated disks, and honestly I wouldn't if I didn't have one.

Timeline is VERY normal. I have had one for seven months and doctors and I still don't know if I should have the surgery or not. Go back and forth daily.

Two- there are two kinds of surgery. Discectomy and he is back and ready to go in 2 months if surgery goes well with no real long term side effects.

Fusion and recovery could take up to a year and he might never be the same strength wise.

Dang... all of this from a collision that really didn't look all that bad until you see it in super slo-mo... you could see Ryno's neck whip.

Prayers to you Ryno I hope he can make a full recovery.

Has something changed in the last week or so though? I remember reports that he was definitely going to be ready for the start of next season.

If it is a discectomy, he is ready by mid to late June.

Does Fletcher actually know it's the fusion? Or is he talking out his ***?

I suppose if it is the fusion and he misses most/all of next year, we gotta give Monty a pass next year also when we underperform.

Based on Dell and Ryan's comments that he will be ready for the start of the season, should we deduce that this type of surgery is the expectation? If not, I do not see how he plays much of next year.

Or, they were lying because it was a season ticket holders event. That is what the pessimists are saying

I would hope that is not the case. Based on his tweet above, I am hoping it is the discectomy you referred to.
