For what it's worth, James Kerti, an NBA scout, said on reddit that he doesn't really see the point of the Pelicans making any moves. He says they're in a tough spot because they can't get rid of Gordon/Evans deals.

I agree that it's silly though. I'd like for one thing to break our way today.
Maybe, but he alone costs then $7 million in luxury taxes. That is a lot to bad for bird rights for a guy that supposedly the Lakers have no interest in re-signing.

3 minutes until deadline... It isn't happening.

Really surprised we did not make a move on a cheap big (i.e. Hill, Zeller, etc.) or a young backup SF just to kick the tires the rest of the season.

Bulk of our trades are in the offseason anyways.

    We're dancing with this grenade.

Right, because moves made today were going to change the complete outlook of this team. I must have missed that memo.

Sure but you're talking about a team that gave a one legged Kobe 30M. I doubt 7 will break the bank if they'd rather keep a guy.

I still think it's silly though. If they have a chance to get under the luxury tax and lose the repeat offender tax, I'd jump on taking it.

Im getting used to being let down by this team.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

I'd give it a good 10-20 mins just to make sure something didn't get submitted last min, but yeah it's not happening.

Imagine being Rocket's fans who thought they could get rid of Asik and get Rondo... What was disappointing about today? Please explain.

Since we didn't use our exception today does that mean we lose it?

I'm by no means let down, I just wanted to see some action. Oh well.

I think so. We could use it to sign someone, I think.

  22. #97
Yeah I mean I'm not super disappointed we didn't make a move, I'm more disappointed the biggest move made in the entire league was Steve Blake.

League wide this was a wet fart of a trade deadline.

Clippers-Knicks trade might've fallen through due to not able to work out compensation cuz of Iman getting hurt vs us.

Or that's what I'm gonna tell myself, just cuz it thumbs an eye into Los Angeles.

We have until March 10th to use it to sign a FA.
