Breaking News Former Tiger/Hornet Thornton on move again, headed to Brooklyn

Ken Berger is confirming reports that the Sacramento Kings and Brooklyn Nets are nearing completion of a trade. The Kings would be sending shooting guard Marcus Thornton to the Nets in exchange for shooting guard Jason Terry and power forward Reggie Evans.
"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin

So the Nets, who have too many ball-dominant shooters got rid of a ball dominant shooter and a very good but under-utilized rebounding defensive big who doesn't need the ball on a good deal, for a ball-dominant shooter who is making more.
I think the Kings gave up on Thornton without providing him much stability but they improve by merit of adding Reggie Evans who should be a pretty nice backup if only they had a 4 with range.

sounds like a lot of people's thoughts when we moved him

Pretty boring move. Thornton won't give them anything. I can only assume this is so they can try to move him next year as an expiring, which will be easier than trying to move two players.

This move pretty much makes Alan Anderson obsolete. The nets wanted to get rid of a bad Terry contract and got a worse one back. The state I live in will throw money at any NBA player and be damned of the luxury tax consequences.
