Does anyone really call the dome anything other than the SuperDome? Doesn't matter what the name is, I will still call it the Arena.
Journalists do in news stories. Promotions do when promoting their events in the Dome. Plus, everyone driving past the Dome has the big "Mercedes Benz" name staring at them in their face.
It works. If it didn't, why would all these companies do this all over the place?

Maybe I should have specified it to people that matter, the fans and the team. I wouldn't care if someone called the arena the **** pile arena in an article.

Honestly how does the Superdome get something cool and high end like Mercdes Benz and the arena gets Smoothie King, Benson better have made bank off this if its true.

The Pelicans have called a press conference for Thursday morning. Several sources say it's to announce a naming rights sponsor for the arena.
That naming rights sponsor could be Smoothie King, the Jefferson Parish company which now has more than 600 locations nationwide.

i really don't get why anyone cares about this. there are dumb-sounding arena names all over the place. it's just money. smoothie king's a large company headquartered in the region, and in case anybody's noticed, we don't have many of those around here..
good for them for stepping forward, hope they get their money's worth. and i hope they start selling smoothies all over the arena.

Short answer, yes, we've heard this.
And I've heard more that it will be that than I've heard that it won't.
If Smoothie weren't such a "wimpy" name, people would like it more. Whatevs. Their product is delicious. SO I'm all for it.

I just hope the wording that is actually on the arena isn't the goofy font/color from their logo
