I have a herniated disc myself. This is not good at all.

    There goes the playoffs.

By the article, recovery time can be 1-6 months depending on the person and the severity of the injury.

Ugh. Bad news. Get well Ryno. This year doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Do whatever it takes to have no long-term complications!

And thank you again to RekeHavoc for going out on a limb to share your information.

His season is likely over, I think that it's the same injury affecting Okafor

    Yeah boys, we're done.

Glad Ryno doesn't have any nerve damage or anything...but we're done.

Just so disappointing, I feel so terrible for Ryan. I wish him a speedy recovery, but hope he doesn't rush back. This season won't be important in terms of wins and loses long term, so I hope he doesn't rush back and do anything to hurt himself long term.

For those looking for optimism, Peyton Manning had a herniated disc and four neck surgeries, and returned to play the best football of his life at 37.

Philly is probably cheering this injury just as they boo injured Saints players. I hate that entire fan base so much.

True. But Peyton Manning can't win in the cold...

For Monty and Dell, this entire season has been the worst case scenario. Most of us agreed that this season is an evaluation & growth year, but this team hasn't been able to be truly evaluated all season because they've never been at full strength. And unfortunately, that will hold true for the rest of the season.

For instance, if healthy we could have looked at the Pacers and Heat games this week as true barometer games regardless of result. But now if we're blown out by both like we should now, what can we really determine??

Can it really get any worse than this?

No, wait, wait, delete that last one.

the silver lining is that although expectations were high this season, this team is still extremely young. building chemistry is going to be key the rest of the way & hopefully develop the younger guys a little more now

Like we didnt cheer every Minnesota injury and misfortune when we had their pick. I dont blame them one bit. Would be terrible to root for player injuries, but nothing wrong with being happy after the fact IMO

So if the Pelicans were to (t word that many of us hate), does that mean we'd be in position to keep our pick to Philly? How does that work?

    Welllllll...

To keep our pick we have to be in the top 5. To guarantee that we have a top 5 pick we have to finish with one of the two worst records in the league. At this point, it would require an epic *t-word* job.

Wondering if this might actually save Monty's job.

Seed Prob 5 or better Prob 6 or worse
    1 100% 0%
    2 100% 0%
    3 96% 4%
    4 83% 17%
    5 55% 45%
    6 22% 79%
    7 15% 85%
    8 10% 90%
    9 6% 94%
    10 4% 96%
    11 3% 97%
    12 3% 97%
    13 2% 98%
    14 2% 98%

Realistically, we would have to finish with at least the 5th worst record.

With talent like AD, Jrue, Tyreke, and EG, that's a virtual impossibility.

Hard to build chemistry without the full complement though. Just have to root for individual development now and hope it will just come together better once Ryno returns next season.

Thanks guys. I just checked and as it stands right now, there are about 11 teams with records worse than ours.

Is it wrong to cheer for the "t word" in the hopes of retaining our pick now.

    Oh God not again.
