Anthony Davis most blocks in a NBA season?
Most blocked shots in a single season in 456. I was wondering how many blocks per game does he need to average to come near this record? I honestly think he has a legit shot at breaking this season and if it isn't this year it will be soon. Math gurus please chime in!

I think he'd need to have 6 blocks in each of the next 76 upcoming games. I don't know if he'll do that.
He would need to play all 82 games and average over 5.5 blocks per.
Seems highly unlikely.

Divide 456 by the total number of NBA games (82), which equals 5.5609...
So essentially averaging anything above that number gets Davis the record. Let's just say that record is safe for now.

I looked for how many blocks he had and found myself sorting through Kentucky stuff. I could have done the math also but figured I would let someone else find the stats way quicker while allowing everyone else to see it. Thanks though you are awesome at math!

Not a coincidence this Vine gets out just as his star is rising.
It's a shame and it was probably one of his former teammates too. The good thing is that it may motivate him and/or get him angry, he played great angry before lol.

Not happening, at least this year. It just amazes me how developed he is at shot blocking when he's only played the position for 3 years. In another 2 to 3 years of technique and he will def break that record. I think Davis will have a season where he averages 7+ blocks per call me crazy.

I seriously worry that the video's leakage may have a negative effect on his progression. I sincerely hope he makes the best of the situation, and uses such exposure as a means of motivation.
He will be fine. If anything it will **** him off. He have great guys around him to make sure he will be fine. Ryan Anderson and Jason Smith just to name a few.

Yeah I think him getting almost 6 blocks each game would be a tall order. And as mentioned, he'd have to play every game too. Every game WITH 6 blocks? I don't know about that. I think it's rather impressive what he's doing now at 20 years old.
Also, I like that most of his blocks keeps the ball in play. He doesn't try each and every time to send them into the 5th row like some players do. Keeping them in play has led to some very nice fast breaks.
