    Lebron James: The PeliKING?

2014 off-season is fastly approaching and it looks like we may have a leg up on the Heat in the chase for LBJ

In a recent interview after the Heat surged back over the Pelicans 108 to 95, Lebron James had kind words for the future of the Pelicans. Jim Eichenhofer tweeted (and quickly deleted) the following:

LeBron James on Pelicans: "That team is much improved... They had a very good offseason adding talent. They had us on our heels."
    10:22pm - 23 Oct 13
    Edit: Here's the screenshot:

Could it be that he sees the promise with this team... and one of our 2 glaring holes... the SF position!

    Let's not forget...

Per an interview earlier in the year, LeBron hinted at not wanting to play in cold weather:

“I miss the slower pace back home but have grown used to my new city's little perks like fresh fish and sweet fruit,” LeBron told Men's Week, speaking about a retirement destination. “It will definitely be someplace warm. I don't want to go back to cold winters."
On top of that, both Lebron James and Erik Spoelstra had glowing reviews for our budding star earlier in the year.

After the game, James approached Davis and gave him a little chat before heading into the locker room. No one could have seen this moment eight years ago.

“He grew and grew and continued to grow,” James said. “He’s a special player. New Orleans got a good one.”
This isn't even the first time that Lebron and New Orleans have been mentioned in a professional basketball union.

During 2008 All-Star Weekend, Lebron even won a trophy in New Orleans: All-Star Game MVP. He has champion ties to New Orleans already.

What is all this pointing to? We all know. Lebron wants to be here. You know it. I know it. Anthony Davis knows it. Lebron James knows it. He was at the Hornets-Heat game in New Orleans last season. He saw how many fans want him here. Hell, even Erik Spoelstra knows it (hence the pressure of winning another championship last year... he needs a reason to compel Lebron to stay... a reason he won't have).

Don't sloe down the momentum, because things are about to pick up. The future is bright here, New Orleans. The King will come.

Can't wait for people to take this seriously and convince themselves that LeBron is gonna be here next season.

No one believed we had a chance with Gordon... With Davis... With Holliday... With Evans... yet here we are. A star-studded roster ready and welcome to embrace another star. It can happen.

Not sure if serious. When hell freezes over LBJ will be a Pelican.

Even if LBJ thought the Pelicans gave him the best chance to win more rings he wouldn't come here. Market too small and we don't have enough cap space.

Look, I'm just tired of bring on the wrong side of the "shoulda woulda coulda"s...

And the only reason Miami is a big market is that Will Smith wrote a rap about it.

And I could calculate the risk of LeBron with an 5-studded abacus.

" "Kruk" is known for his use of baseball lingo, especially his signature phrase when an opposing team's rookie hitter strikes out:

    "Grab some pine, meat!"

Although the term "meat" technically refers to a team's rookie hitter, Krukow will often use the term to reference a batter who strikes out on a nasty pitch or looks bad or silly in the process.

The phrase "grab some pine" comes from the implication that after a hitter strikes out he will go take a seat on the bench in the dugout, which is traditionally made of pine. The term "meat" refers to a rookie player in the sense that he is "fresh meat". "

I went to a minor league game with my mom's ex bf and he yelled this at every opposing batter who struck out.

Name not familiar... but I see they're a decent band.
Edit: Oh I'm familiar with their song Conga, I guess I do know some of their stuff.

What I do know is New Orleans Jazz and New Orleans history. I took Jazz History twice because I inexplicably got slapped with a D the first time.

Whenever I read a Quailman thread, I struggle to distinguish the real basketball talk from the fluff.

    Always as entertaining as confusing...

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
