Portland will send Jeff Withey to Pelicans as part of 3-team deal, league source tells Y!
Someone create a thread with all the details of this deal when they are official please.
Perfect. Literally perfect. Need an NBA ready defensive big to play 12 minutes?
Nice! This guy is a straight up defender, averaged almost 4 blocks a game in college. A legit 7-footer on a rookie contract that many considered a first rounder that slipped to the second round.
I love the Hornets, but now am all on board with the PELS.... Geaux Pelicans!
Clap your hands everybody
If you got what it takes
'Cause I'm Joel Meyers and I want you to know
That these are the breaks.
Holy shot Dell is big pimpin'.
That's a guy I thought should have gone late first. Defense first, and really only, big. But he should do that well and that means he's got a great chance to be a positive rotation player. And on a 2nd round contract no less.
I wanted to draft him in the second but portland took him.... Wooooo!!
Averaged 4 BPG with 14 PPG. Has potential to be a solid center but he can come in and make an impact like Aaron Gray did, but should grow to be a better player. Here's his scouting report.
2013-1014 is the season the Pelicans fanbase grows!!!!
Now we know why Terrell Harris was sent (he could have been waived without issue, and there's no way Portland was actually interested.)
So basically Dell got Portland to pay Lopez's trade kicker and got them to throw in a player that may have a higher ceiling than Lopez. Dealin' Dell Doin' Work!
In Final Four 2 years ago, Withey held Sullinger and AD to 6-29 shooting.
Two years ago, AD averaged 5.8 blocks per 40 minutes.
This dude Dell is serious.

Dell just filled our biggest need in a trade that gave us our most coveted FA. . .how? I mean he threw in a player that we were going to cut and got a center that will give us our 10-15mins a game.
This is just amazing.
