Milwaukee Bucks 06-07 Pre-Season Media Session

GM Ian Quailmen takes the podium.

Quailmen: Greetings, Buckaroos! Welcome to another wonderful Media Session with yours truly, Ian Quailmen. Coming off of the heels of quite possibly one of the most historic seasons in the history of the Bucks franchise since the NBA Redraft of 2000, I would first and foremost like to thank our fans for being the best in the NBA. Everything we do is for you guys, and, to the same effect, all moves we made during the off-season have been for our fans.

Quailmen: I would like to take a brief moment to congratulate our team on a wonderful season, despite a tough loss to the NBA Champion New Orleans Hornets. It was a great ride that we hope not to stop just yet. We'd like to congratulate Gilbert Arenas on his MVP season, to which I know personally he is only a part of the whole. And a great whole we were. On that note, on behalf of the Bucks franchise, I would like to express our thanks and gratitude to those who have moved on from our franchise since the end of last season. First and foremost, I would like to wish Brian Grant the best of luck in Utah; over the past few seasons Brian has been an integral part of this team offensively and defensively. His veteran presence was always greatly appreciated. We would also like to send our best wishes to John Salmons, whose time with the time was short but impactful. Next, to Mike Miller and Scot Pollard, and may they have great seasons in Toronto (except in games against us).

Quailmen: Now onto the team that will be your 2006-2007 Milwaukee Bucks! We'll start with some new faces... or should I say new and old?

Quailmen: He originally signed with us 3 seasons ago, and unfortunately at the time, moves had to be made to better our franchise. However, fate has brought our freakish rebounding forward back to Milwaukee. Ladies and gentlemen, SHAREEF ABDUR-RAHEEM!

Quailmen: Our next newest addition comes to us after spending his career with the Utah Jazz. An all-around front court threat on both ends of the court. Introducing... ANTOINE WALKER!

Quailmen: Also acquired across the course of our offseason and bringing their talents to THE KEE... DESMOND MASON! ... RON MERCER! ... CHUCKY ATKINS!

Quailmen: Now some returning faces... Our defensive force down low... TYSON CHANDLER!

Quailmen: Our young and hungry two guard... TONY ALLEN!

Quailmen: The REAL Sixth Man of the Year, laying the wood to all those who stand in his path... CHANNING FRYE!

Quailmen: The bench glue. The scrapper. The guts of this team... CORLISS WILLIAMSON!

Quailmen: Last but not least... YOUR MVP... MILWAUKEE VALUABLE PLAYER... GILBERT AREEEEEEEEEEEEENAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSSSSS!

Quailmen: All of our players have been training viciously through training camps and team sessions. With these men, we have only one goal: a NBA Title. From this day, we plan to take this league by storm, continue our path to greatness, and not let any team stop us until we are the champions of the Association.

Quailmen: We are your Milwaukee Bucks. Any Questions?

Do you see any world where this team falters and finishes below last years win total? Looking at the Celtics last year, this game always seems to claim an underachieving team each season.

Is Channing Frye upset about not starting, you do like his inside game? Does he leave a bad taste in your mouth or something? Is that why he laid his wood out on you? He's in a pretty sucky situation? Is he content or did you give him a tongue lashing? Basically, what I'm asking is, are you satisfying Channing Frye?

also how do you like the hardwood?

Jon Snow, WSN. Are you worried about your lack of outside scoring aside from Arenas? You lost sharpshooter Mike Miller and didnt get another long range sniper. Do you really feel you can keep up with the scoring quota necessary in the upper tiers of the Eastern conference?

Also there have been reports of Antoine Walker's alleged "gambling problem" the reports are accusing him of heavy gambling losses at multiple casinos in Las Vegas in the offseason. Are you concerned?

Barring any injuries, I truly think that this is the best team this franchise may have put together. That is not to discredit the teams of past successful seasons. But each year, the East continues to re-tool and upgrade. To stay with that race, we must do the same. So as long as we stay healthy, I think we will be a top team in this league.

Channing Frye is very happy with his current situation. In his current situation, he will most likely get 22-26 minutes per game. Possibly more. We will be relying heavily on him off the bench, and he knows this.

Thanks for the questions, Mr. Snow. We did try to resign Mike Miller, but we unfortunately could not match what the Raptors were offering. We understand that this is a business, so his decision is completely understandable. Unfortunately, Shareef and Antoine can sink a 3 hear and there, which is enough for me to consider staying with a balanced offense. Outside of Arenas and Miller, last year we didn't have anyone else who could nail a 3 until we signed for Salmons. I think we could possibly make a balanced offense work with this team once again.

As for Antoine and his gambling... as long as he doesn't bring gambling to the locker room and influence our other young players, we won't intervene. Plus, losing in Vegas during the off-season may make him hungry for some winning in the season.

When can we expect the Bucks ownership to upgrade their equipment and join the growing Playstation team in the league?

The Milwaukee Bucks pride themselves on being independent thinkers and don't quickly conform to the thoughts of the masses. That said, once finished comparing the pros and cons of both systems, if PS4 comes out on top, then PS4 may be the console of the future.

    J. Felders from SI.com here. What led to the decisions on trading for Shareef & Antoine Walker? Also, are you worried about the fact that your two biggest offseason acquisitions have been proven scorers but not proven winners? With the veteran Grant gone, is Gilbert ready to assume full leadership of the Bucks locker room?

    J. Felders leans over to Will Maulkie and whispers, "PS4? Dafuq man, it's 2006. Quail must've had a bit too much of that Milwaukee Brewin' before he came out."

I need to start respecting the timeline. This response made me laugh pretty hard though.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

It seems your team is best suited as an inside focus offensively. How will that affect how you setup your scoring option and also how will it affect the production of Gilbert Arenas?

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

Jason Jones of the KingsCorner, first of all expectations are high for your team in a very tough division in which you share with the Hornets. Is Gilbert's pursuance of a second straight MVP honor on the teams mind and how likely do you see Gilbert winning the award again?
