Thread: Hornets vs. Jazz Game Thread

I really liked our effort against the Spurs. I think everybody aside for Rivers and Anderson played to their peak levels.

What does concern me is that we don't have production off the dribble or in the post. We are a jump shooting team. Which means when we're hot like we were against the Spurs we'll be in every game, but when we're cold I foresee some ugly offensive showings.

We did only make 4 3 pointers the entire game. I don't think we can be classified as a jump shooting team yet. Maybe we're not getting true post shots but we're getting a lot of inside shots.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Not just 3's but we took a bunch of 19-15 foot jumpers.

I want to watch today's game so badly! Although we lost against the Spurs, it was a very enjoyable game, where we could have won, and our guys are still getting used to each other. Davis was pretty impressive, just expecting to watch more from Rivers. For the few I've seen him, he reminds me of Wade, with that dribbles moves and his inside game.
Hate that we can't count with Gordon yet, I was really expecting for him to play on opening night.

I could be wrong, but I think if you looked at the advance stats we took our share of jumpers but I don't think it was as one-sided as you think. Not sure where to look that up.
    Wherehappens.

Was at The Hive for opening night. First time seeing the new broadcast. It looks so much more professional. Love it and Joel Meyers just brings an air of importance to it. Well done Mr. Benson

Honestly, I don't know how much better Rivers can play. His skill set just isn't there. Doesn't do alot of things well on the NBA level. I know I'm negative about him alot and I won't deny it, but I'm really being honest about it. He needs to improve on his shooting, strength, vision/ball-handling (looks down at his defender alot instead of seeing the floor), and defense. I think its best for him and the team to bring him off the bench and let the veteran Mason start.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

Whoever suggested getting a burrito at Rouses is a very smart person. It is what I did tonight and they are pretty good and very huge. Also, it was my first time in a Rouses and I have to say I am impressed. Real clean looking place. Makes me wish I had one somewhat close to me.

Watching the Hornets shoot around right now and Mason can't buy a bucket. Aminu seems to be practicing the Eurostep on his layups.

And I like the warmups, but I'm a fan of purple and gold color combos, in general. I still wish the Mardi Gras jerseys were our default jersey at all times. Love 'em.

Pretty much. He and Aminu are the two Hornets I want to watch succeed the most.

Tired of the Beau Rivage commercials already, but for some odd reason I miss the 7up ones.
